The National Alliance of Philippine Women in Canada (NAPWC) is proud to present its first-ever benefit concert: Something Else, Something Fierce, featuring an almost all-female Filipino Canadian line-up of celebrated and emerging artists.
Proceeds from the concert will enable the NAPWC to advance its mandate for genuine equality and development for Filipino Canadian women. Beyond breaking stereotypes that Filipino women are servile, domesticated women, the NAPWC develops national programs that enhance the community's political and social involvement in Canada through community-based research projects and political advocacy.
Tickets available online at napwcsomethingfierce.com and at The Jean Queen at 2277 Commercial Drive (cash only). Doors at 7 p.m., show at 8 p.m. Admission is $35 in advanced, $25 for students with valid student ID, $45 at the door.
