StoryTelling for Media Activists
with Kristin Schwartz

Are you involved with or interested in alternative media? Do you
wonder how to develop a story, research and interview people from a
social justice lens? OPIRG-York presents a workshop for media
activists on the do's and don'ts of alternative and activist
journalism. Facilitated by community journalist Kristin Schwartz,
we'll be discussing story ideas, how to prepare and research, and tips
for interviews.

This workshop is geared for media activists involved with all forms of
media: radio, print, podcasts, web, zines and more!

Kristin Schwartz is a community-based writer and radio journalist. She
is the producer of four critically acclaimed radio documentaries
including "The Ravaging of Africa" and "Path of Destruction: Canadian
Mining Companies Around the World". She worked as news director at
CKLN 88.1fm for eight years, and today contributes to GroundWire
(www.groundwire.ncra.ca) and Free Speech Radio News.

Sponsored by OPIRG-York - Propirganda Radio Collective, CHRY 105.5FM York Community Radio, and YU Free Press.
