Over the last few months the Vancouver Public Space Network has been running a Design Ideas Competition that encouraged participants to create drawings and plans for a grand gathering space in Vancouver. The aim was to provide a forum for ideas about what a grand gathering place in Vancouver might look like, and what social, cultural, economic and/or artistic role this square might play in the life of our city.
April 28 will be a fun-filled and exciting evening as the very best of the entries will be presented. Over 50 design teams submitted proposals. The designs that made the shortlist will be revealed. And best of all, you'll get a chance to vote for your favourite.
As an added bonus, the evening will also feature a short program of events that focus on the artistic aspects of public gathering places, with special guest speakers and live entertainment.
