Location
On June 12th, 2010, in coordination with the Bluenose Naturist Club, the World Naked Bike Ride will be taking place on the streets of Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is the 3rd consecutive year that the bike ride will be taking place in Halifax. The Halifax ride is one of 6 rides that is happening that day across Canada, and one of hundreds across the Northern Hemisphere. The event is being held to celebrate bicycles, bike culture, active transportation, and promote positive body image while protesting car culture, lack of cycling infrastructure in HRM, oil dependency, and air pollution.
A free pre-ride public body painting session will be happening at the Bus Stop Theatre
(2203 Gottingen Street) at 12 noon. There will be amateur and professional artists on hand to paint the bodies of bike ride participants. There will also be free food.
