A national petition to address the growing epidemic of violence against health care workers has been launched by the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU), representing 200,000 nurses, and is sponsored by MP Doug Eyolfson, a former emergency room doctor.
This petition comes as rates of violence continue to climb across the country and reports of graphic incidents, such as the recent assault caught on video in Winnipeg, persist. Nurses believe that they need a pan-Canadian strategy to address this crisis rather than continuing to work in isolation.
CFNU President Linda Silas and MP Doug Eyolfson are encouraging Canadians to sign this important petition to show that they care for the dedicated frontline workers who provide care for us.
