The Safra Project is an organization dedicated to supporting LGBTQ women who also identify as Muslim. Check out their website and resources sections in particular, to find reports, fact sheets, and lots of great projects and presentations dealing with the unique challenges presented to Muslim LGBTQ women. The intersection of discrimination on the basis of religion, culture, language in addition to sexual orientation or sexual identification is quite a challenge.

That’s why resources like those from the Safra Project are so important. While the organization is UK-based, their tools would be helpful to support women in many regions. Their tools are broken down by category. Here are some of the issues you can browse by:

-Marriage and children (dealing with forced marriage, honour crimes, etc.)

-Housing and mental health (resources are very UK-specific)

-Domestic violence

-Social groups (connecting with advocacy and support organizations worldwide)
