I just saw this event posted around Carleton campus.
A lecture by a lawyer named Solomon Friedman entitled - "Firearms: The Foundation of Freedom". The description says: A talk about how "firearms have contributed more than any other single item to the proliferation of democracy and free, civil society".
WTF? IS this actually happening? A pro firearms event at Carleton?
I found this link - www.loveofliberty.ca - to the people who are hosting it? Who is the Love of Liberty Society?
Is anyone planning on doing anything about this?
Regions:
What do you have against the population owning firearms if they so choose? It means the left can have them too you know.
Wish we had a 'sarcasm' smiley so we could tell if you're having us on, or not.
I smell something.
Sniff sniff.
When I was a student at UofT (not that long ago), we had a gun range on campus and shooting clubs. I don't see how a lecture about guns is a problem. If you're not interested, don't go.
I thought the UofT gun range had been closed.
I think it has since closed but as recently as 10 years ago, it was up and running.
