It is a documentary concerning the visit by former U.S. President and accused war criminal George W. Bush to Calgary, Alberta, on March 17th, 2009, about efforts by citizen groups to have Bush either barred or arrested for his alleged crimes, and the one man who attempted to arrest Bush, and the reasons why.

This man is a native Mohawk named Dacajeweiah which translates to "Splitting the Sky". His colonialized name is John Boncore. He is a life long activist for Indigenous Peoples, for Truth, Justice, Freedom and Peace.

For his actions, he was arrested and charged with 'Obstruction of a Peace Officer'. He will plead NOT guilty. His legal defense will be 'Civil Resistance'.

Professor of Law, Francis Boyle (U. of Illinois) states that:

"In 'civil resistance' cases, you have individuals, acting peaceably, who are attempting to prevent the ongoing commission of international crimes for the express purpose of upholding the Rule of Law, the Constitution, International Law, and Human Rights. Such measures must not be confused with acts of 'civil disobedience' as traditionally defined, where protesters were conscientiously violating domestic laws for the express purpose of changing them."

The documentary begins with a TV interview featuring Gail Davidson of Lawyers Against the War, an interview with a former Canadian soldier who formerly hunted war criminals, TV coverage of the demonstration, and then footage of the arrest of Splitting the Sky. This section concludes with political commentary by Canadian comic Alan Park of Driving Tunes.

From there, we carry on to Vancouver where Splitting the Sky spoke to supporters on April 11th, 2009. He discusses his motivations, detailed what happened in Calgary, and speaks about Civil Resistance and what he hopes to achieve with his court case. He is introduced by Wayne Prante, who provides some historical context for the presentation by Splitting the Sky, and some biographical information.

In court last week in Calgary, the judge granted Splitting the Sky a 5 day trial, beginning in March 2010 to present evidence in his defence.

This will include testimony from legal experts as well as from victims of the Bush regime policies and practice of torture and other war crimes.

His legal defence team is headed led by Charles Davison of Lawyers Against the War and assisted by former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark

Please contribute to the 'Splitting the Sky Legal Defence Fund'. See:

He deserves all of our support. He is available for speaking engagements and would appreciate any invitations to speak.

He is an incredible speaker, very passionate and well researched. He says what means, means what he says, and does what he says.

What are the G8 and SPP?

The G8 are the eight most 'advanced' industrial nations (Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the US, and Russia). These countries dominate & control the global economic system. The G8 summits enable these governments (along with their partners in crime: the corporations) to further their control & exploitation of the global system. The G8 Summit will occur in June 2010 in Ontario.
The Security & Prosperity Partnership (SPP) is a plan to integrate the economic and security systems of Canada, the US, and Mexico. It is an extension of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and includes plans for a North American Union (all in the interests of state-corporate power).

War Crimes perpetrated under Democratic and Republican administrations: George Bush versus Bill Clinton The Rule of International Criminal Law

From Calgary to Toronto

Just as fresh revelations keep oozing out about the broad extent of the international criminality perpetrated by the regime of the former US president, Canada is becoming the main site of a corporate-driven effort to re-brand George W. Bush as a legitimate political pundit. On May 29 Mr. Bush joins Bill Clinton on the stage of the Metropolitan Toronto Convention Centre in an event hosted by the TD Financial Group and several other sponsors. The hosts include the Calgary-based Bennett Jones law firm, the global accounting giant Ernst and Young, the Toronto Board of Trade as well as the Toronto-based Globe and Mail newspaper...

Splitting the Sky Hill has been an activist for many decades, and his story is very interesting:

Sorry for the thread drift, but I'd like to mention that, among other things, Splitting-the-Sky Hill is aware of the many benefits of cannabis hemp, and how the so-called "war on drugs" is actually a war against the world's most sacred and beneficial plants.

Splitting-the-Sky Hill
Speech given at the Washington DC Hemp Rally
July 4, 1991

The more I look into the detailed history of hemp in this country, the more I realize the question again boils down to destroying the economic base of all indigenous, good people in this world.

Long before other nations came to this continent, native peoples had knowledge of this sacred plant, this sacred medicine. We understood that it could help one breathe better; it could help one see better; it could help people attune themselves to the harmonies and vibrations of Creation. When one smoked the sacred plants, one came closer to the natural powers of Creation.

...Those who understand the power of this plant and the uses of this plant have become potential victims upon the sacrificial altar of multinational corporations... that have vested interests in products that make you sicker, and against a natural plant that will bring you back to health.

When we look at the defamation and assassination of this plant for the War on Drugs, we see that this war is nothing but a war perpetuated by those that control the cartels of resources against the natural world people. Subsequently, just as we were killed by rich nations through the use of their military forces, who set up a process of encroachments to steal the resources of the lands of traditional people - the very same thing that happened to us where we lost our lands, we lost our culture, our religion, and we lost millions of lives, could very well happen to you with the repression of the marijuana laws in this country.

You could very well soon understand, from a traditional perspective what it must be like to lose your house, to lose your land and to lose your life in the defense of a sacred tradition that is a gift to you by the Great Spirit.

...When I look at these facts and see how these facts relate to indigenous peoples, I have to say that when the Europeans came into this continent they came in droves with their Gatling guns and their cannons, and destroyed and decimated nations for what? The resources of the people. So subsequently most indigenous people like the Big Mountain people, the people of Fort Belknap, the people of the Black Hills, the people of Oklahoma, of lands throughout the Western Hemisphere have basically been decimated economically.

And when I think of all the potential for the growth of hemp for textiles, for fuel, for food, for clothing, for anything imaginable by the thousands of uses, I think there could possibly be, among indigenous nations, a revival and a resurrection of economic stability, of economic self-dependency by coming to grips with the possibility of growing this sacred plant by Native, indigenous nations, and then interacting through international exchange and cooperation.. I believe that this sacred plant could have world-wide implications.

And one thing I know for sure, that the war against this sacred herb, a gift from the Great Spirit, a gift from the spirits of the world, has a planetary significance at this time. And I submit to you this day, this time, there is an allegiance that needs to be built and a networking that needs to go nonstop... that the time for fighting and resistance is now, and we must escalate to protect the plant, to protect the interests of indigenous populations, and to forge a merger for the salvation and survival of all peoples in Creation.
