So many people, in counting down the days to Christmas, purchase numbered advent calendars where you eat one chocolate for every day during December before Christmas. Except I've never been able to figure this out: are the chocolates supposed to be eaten counting up or counting down?
If there's one "big" window then that one is clearly for last. Open beginning at the other end.
Otherwise, if it's numbered to 24 or 25 then open each window on December "X" (e.g. open window 14 on Dec. 14, etc.).
Of course this means that if you get an advent calendar on, say, Dec. 9, you have some fun "catching up to do".
