Edible Action - book launch co-sponsored by rabble.ca!

If you're in the Toronto area and you're into foodie and food security issues, please come out to this book launch which is being co-sponsored by rabble.ca:

Edible Action Book Launch Party

Local organic food, delectable wine, good tunes and a great book too!

Friday, November 14, 2008
5:30pm - 7:30pm
Centre for Social Innovation
215 Spadina Avenue

Come celebrate, talk about ideas for changing the world through food, and meet Sally Miller, the author of 'Edible Action: Food Activism & Alternative Economics,' published by Fernwood.

"In this wonderfully readable book, Sally Miller reveals how people are taking back the economy as a space of democratic decision-making through activism around food." (J.K. Gibson-Graham).

Sally Miller has worked for almost twenty years in the alternative food, agriculture, and co-op sectors in both the U.S. and Canada as a manager, consultant, organizer and researcher. She has a PhD in anthropology and a Masters in environmental studies.

Sponsored by Local Food Plus (LFP), rabble.ca and Fernwood Publishing

Hey, is anyone going to this tonight? I'm going to try to be there from about 5:30 until 6 or so - I have a previous commitment and have to get home early tonight.

Anyhow, rabble's holding a contest for five free copies of the book! Here goes:

We're sponsoring tonight's launch of Sally Miller's book Edible Action:
Food Activism and Alternative Economics. So, in light of this event,
Fernwood Books has provided us with five books to give away! We will
give a book to the first five people who tell us the special guest
featured at today's Toronto launch...hint: find it on What's Up. Send
in your answers to [email protected]
