Actually the only thing that is relevant to me in this is the name-- and frankly that is offensive.
By description this is a right of centre party and the use of language to suggest otherwise is an effort to sell the idea that the political spectrum has moved so far to the right that the resurrection of what was once considered -- without any controversy -- the right wing party of Canada is now to be called centrist. What a fucking cruel joke being played on Canadians who actually don't want this or are presumed to be too stupid to notice what is happening to their country.
But truth be told perhaps enough fucking money and propaganda and someone will imagine that we will all think it is a left wing party I guess.
That 57% of Canadians think that in a time of declining crime and urgent other priorities we need to build billions of dollars worth of jails bogels the mind especially when 82% in the same survey acknowledged that we have no idea what this will all cost and the government is keeping it a secret. This means 18% figure they know the cost and that is cool; 39% figure that it is okay to write a blank cheque for them so long as the government eventually tells us what we spent. Perhaps this is an alternative reality designed to prove that Canadians are clueless.
Or perhaps it is a sign that I am out of touch with just how fucked up and unrecognizable this country has actually become when what we inherited from Brian Mulroney is now to be considered centrist.

But at least it's not a naked pig. Nobody wants to see that.
