Michael Ignatieff: Not Who You Think

Anyone know who's behind this anti-Ignatieff video on youtube?

Maxx

There is only one thing missing: "I am John McCain and I approve this message."

janfromthebruce

Chicken, eh?

Another utube but definitely it is focussed on Iggy and backing the Harper Agenda - very creative, funny, and the truth. How unprogressive is that?

janfromthebruce

targeted assisinations???? I must say, no wonder Iggy and the red conservatives are going for some folks who vote conservative - I guess it's his way of building a better world but for who?

East613Est

Two things briefly.

1, As someone that knows the producers behind the Chicken response, and the original poster of the link here, I can categorically, absolutely, without a doubt confirm it is an authentic amateur NDP effort. It's the work of a group of local activists in Ottawa who were incensed by the outrageous hypocrisy of the Liberals after Jack met with Harper a week or two ago.

2, the 'who is MI' ad is almost certainly the work of the Conservative Resource Group. The production quality is staggeringly high, and it jives almost exactly with CRG central messaging. They even use the same font and general graphic design style as other officially Conservative pieces. Also, just a feeling, but I know I've heard that particular female voice in another Con production recently, I just can't remember exactly where.

I can vouch 100% for the first ad which, recall, is defensive in nature. I can vouch 99% for the other one being CRG.

L'Aut'Journal, a sovereignist monthly, publishes a very interesting summary of Ignatieff's political background here.

So Michael Ignatieff is a stooge for US interests and will be rewarded for handing what's left of Canada over to superrich and powerful Americans. We already knew it.

Harper is the sell out as leaves struggling Canadians pockets empty as proposes a tax to help out rich foreign investors who will take their profits elsewhere and pull out at anytime while struggling Canadians are left to go without.  Harper makes Homelessness a Household word.  And when  did foreign investment rock the GNP in Canada?  It never has and it never will.  Harper is the sell out as there is little doubt as despite billions of dollars in debt which have ended up in the pockets of corporations and their CEO's.

Harper attracts all those who no longer find a unfair playing field in American as regulation and corporate responsibility are now on the political agenda while Harper lets big business have its way with Canada.  And its heart breaking for sure as its not the same country strong and free as Canadians are heavily in debt, and nothing to show for it while many live on Canada's cold hearted streets.

Lets ask Iggy to get rid of the much hated HST.

Fidel

Quote:
"Canada remains alienated from its allies, shut out of the reconstruction process to some degree, unable to influence events . There is no upside to the position Canada took[to stay out of Iraq war" - Steve "I'm a US stooge, too! Harper

"Nothing is personal in politics, because politics is theatre. It is part of the job to pretend we have emotions that you do not feel" - Michael (I'm an even bigger US stooge) Ignatieff

"To defeat evil, we may have to traffic in evils: indefinite detention of suspects, coercive interrogations, targeted assassinations, even pre-emptive war" - Michael Ignatieff

"We need to make sure that assassinations don't do more harm than good" - Michael "I'm a vicious toady to US imperialism" Ignatieff

It's a stooge-off as far as I can tell.

Who is playing chicken now?  Now that an election is forth coming and Iggy says Harper, this is no way to treat Canadians and Canada as the debt continues to climb while Canadians get little relief from Harper's government and federal taxes promise relief to the Rich and not regular Canadians.

Iggy cooperated like the people wanted,  and now its time to speak up on the behalf of struggling Canadians and there sure is a great many in need of help which Harper says not happening.  And the election is on.

LOL... Lets see, didn't we remove the PCs and replace them with Liberals who PROMISED to get rid of the GST? And when there was some public disgust because the LPC had NO intention of getting rid of the GST, the LPC gave us something called the HST.

Just ain't gonna Happen. The two Global trade Parties are also the two HST Parties.

However, I am willing to use applicable cohersive techniques such as Sleep Deprivation to get him to change his mind.

my babble, Iggy cooperated like the people wanted?

The only person he cooperated with was Harper.

Just a minute. Liberal Tax relief has been for the Rich at the expense of the poor and middle class. The Debt climbs, because the CPC have no more EI funds to steal, unlike during the LPC period of balanced budgets and stealing from the public EI purse that is most needed by the most vulnerable Canadians.

Ignatieff is untrustworthy. Ignatieff is also a hypocrit.   I would NEVER trust Ignatieff with the responsibility of helping Canadians in need. He failed that test in January through June, and during his holidays in July and August.

All that Ignatieff has done so far is steal a page from the 2008 Harper Playbook.

In 2008 after having full and complete Liberal Support since 2006, and never once being opposed in a motion of confidence, Harper unilaterally decided he couldn't accept this cooperation any longer and pulled the plug on his own government.

In 2009 after giving full and complete cooperation and full support of everything Conservative for nearly 4 straight years, Ignatieff has decided he wants to drive the bus.

This has nothing to do with struggling Canadians and is an INSULT upon struggling Canadians to suggest such an absurdity.

This posturing does have everything to do with the Liberal Party and the state that the Liberal party is in.

I prefer Harper under lock and key of the mInority parliment until he fades away.

How about Harper behind bars and we throw away the key,  like Harper has throw away any hope for struggling Canadians as Harper's contribution to Canada is no Canadian will go without as unrinated streets filled with filth becomes there new home on Canada's streets as Harpers take on poverty is killing off the poor.

Last time, libs said they were the great savers of Canadians was the 1993 liberal redbook. 3 majorities later and 1 minority govt, those libs decided they were in trouble, and pulled out all those long forgotten progressive promises in their dying days of their scandal ridden lib minority govt.

You need to read Chretin's "straight from the heart" and followed up by Maude Barlow's "Straight through the heart" to understand why Council of Canadians got started. Maude B. use to be a big time liberal but the unprogressive turn of the lib party and breaking all "the got elected on" progressive policies shows what an unprogressive party the libs are.

I'm sorry but got to say

NDP

WE CAN DO BETTER.

Liberal or Conservative

Just to set the record straight....

Ignatieff agrees to HST

Quote:

TORONTO - Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff won't block tax harmonization in Ontario if his party forms the next government, Premier Dalton McGuinty said Tuesday.

"We have secured Mr. Ignatieff's commitment to moving ahead with the single sales tax should he earn the privilege of serving Canadians in government," McGuinty said.

He also hinted that the federal Liberals wouldn't stop British Columbia from merging its provincial sales tax with the federal GST, either.

Amateur being the key word. You need to be a speed reader to read the slides. Anyone with any level of difficulty with the english language won't have a chance.

As for the one at the top of this thread, interesting that it's the conservatives (I would believe it) since they support all the same things - and more.

And, as you know, the same can be said for Harper.

Yep. Like you say Fidel, "Liberal, Tory. It's the same old story."

You're saying it like it is certainly.  PM Harper will likely remain in a minoroty situation as you state you'd like to have happen.  However if Ignatieff keeps the economy the focus then Harpers numbers will only continue to rise.   If the Liberals want to win they cannot, in my view, make the election issue the economy as this favors Harper.

It favors PM Harper because the economy is rebounding and starting to improve and the BoC and the RBC forcast this to continue.  Ignatieff needs to find something else to talk about.

Another 100 people were laid off here in Cambridge this week, the manufacturing plant (small DC motors) shut down.

Not sure things will improve here.
