Lately in the news, I keep hearing of the NDP supporting Federal institutions in Quebec being subjected to Provincial and not Federal language legislation.
I'd been proposing similar ideas for years, though I have to admit that until recently MPs sympathetic to such an idea, at least in principle, were mostly to be found in the Conservative Caucus, such as Scott Reid who supports territorial bilingualism.
Now it would seem that many New Democrats in Parliament also prefer the idea of more localized language policies over the OLA.
I personally think it's a move in the right direction, and just hope that while the NDP becomes more in favour of this that the Conservatives don't become less so as a knee-jerk reaction just to be different.
What are your thoughts on this? Good or bad move on the part of the NDP?
