When the House is in session, the opposition asks clever questions meant to show off their own virtue and embarrass the government. The government replies in exactly the same fashion. No information is exchanged.
When the House is prorogued, the opposition is now asking clever questions via Twitter - and there's no stupid insulting smug answers from the government at all!
Now, I'd like everyone to compare the cost of: a) maintaining the House of Commons; vs. b) posting on Twitter. You see where I'm going?
We could abolish the House and spend the savings on providing high-speed internet to every single Canadian everywhere - at no charge - and money to spare - some of which could be used for job training.
No one would notice that the House was missing. And democracy would flourish.
I have been following. I wish that they would mix it up a bit with some humour. Because is needs to be be both - entertaining and factual.
Oh come on, I find the whole exercise very amusing.

Unionist, let me guess - we will need a Facebook account in order to vote.
