Any ideas on how to eliminate religious discrimination in Ontario gradually if it cant' be done overnight? Among some options I could see include:
1. If the NDP cannot adopt a policy for religious justice in Ontario, then at least adopt no discriminatory policy either. Perhaps the NDP could remain officially neutral on the issue and leave it to individual NDP MPs to make up their own minds on this issue.
2. Require all schools receiving any public funding to adopt a first-come-first-served approach to enrollment. It would then be up to individual publicly-owned Catholic schools to figure out how to handle any non-catholic kids in their schools.
3.Go to a school voucher system, with vouchers being redeemable at any public school. This would put pressure on Catholic schools to attract non-Catholic pupils too, thus pressuring them towards secularization.
These are just some possible ideas, and I'm certainly open to others.
