METRAC Safety audit survey for LGBTTIQQ: City of Toronto

METRAC invites you to participate in an initiative to assess the safety needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, intersex, queer, questioning, two-spirited (LGBTTIQQ2S) women and trans communities, in relation to their experiences of violence and the fear of violence in public spaces, within the City of Toronto. Findings from the assessment will be used to develop, enhance and distribute safety resources for LGBTTIQQ2S women and trans communities of Toronto.

We welcome and seek to include all members of the LGBTTIQQ2S women and trans communities who feel that they would like to participate in this project. To this end, we are seeking your support in promoting the survey with LGBTTIQQ2S women and trans communities in your networks.

. Please fill out the survey between June 27th and August 31st, 2008. The survey should take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

For more information, or to obtain hard copies of the survey, please contact Iris Samson at 416-392-9138 or by [email protected].

Thank-you in advance for your participation!

This project is sponsored by METRAC and the 519’s Anti-Violence Program, through funding provided by the Lesbian and Gay Community Appeal Foundation (LGCA).

Ok. Seriously?

How the hell does anyone expect that to resonate with people?

Heywood, you're killing my post-Pride buzz.

I posted this so women who are in the prioritized communities in Toronto can access this safety audit survey in the limited time frame that the survey will be available. Violence against women in the queer community is real and should not be diminished or made fun of. Or drifted.

I have no interest in a debate over language and terminology. Certainly not the way you framed it, Heywood.

P.S. For anyone who's wondering: Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgendered Transsexual Intersex Queer Questioning Two-Spirited. Until another, better term comes along ( there are advocacy groups working around the clock ) that's what we're using.

I always go to the parade in NYC. It's BIG, it's like right there down the block. But, I keep missing out on other major cities' parades because it's too damn easy to stay home.

That's a great survey, btw.
