Jennifer Epps-Addison: The first thing I want to say is progressives are not sitting around waiting to be invited into the conversation or to the table. And so I know there was a lot made about who was speaking, and who wasn’t speaking, but I think people actually should have paid a lot more attention to who was organizing their own events on the side of the convention conversation.
From Linda Sarsour organizing Muslim voters. Our own network had a launch of our United Against Trump, which is a program with lots of progressive organizations and activists across the country who understand our task is to defeat Donald Trump in this election.
So I understand why people made that point, but I want to be clear. Joe Biden clearly has a strategy where he believes that there are enough 2016 Trump voters who are willing to cross over to vote for him in 2020 in order to secure this election. I do not share that analysis, nor do I believe history has born that out. People should remember that Barack Obama won the presidency twice, neither which of those times did he win a majority of white voters. I believe that if a Democrat wins in 2020, it will not be with the support of a majority of white voters.
What does that mean to groups like ours and to Progressives? It’s our community, and it’s our responsibility to help them participate in this election at record numbers. We should anticipate that the Biden administration or the Biden campaign should I say, will not help us with that. They will continue to make choices that play to a constituency that ultimately does not share our values.
And yet we are in the position we’re in, and so we again have to have the right conversations with our communities about what our strategy will be in pushing a Biden administration. And part of that strategy is defeating authoritarianism and this racist regime in Donald Trump in order to get to a place where we can push for co-governance and push our policies forward.

An intelligence bulletin issued by the Department of Homeland Security warns that Russia is attempting to sow doubt about the integrity of the 2020 elections by amplifying false claims related to mail-in voting resulting in widespread fraud, assertions that have been repeatedly pushed by President Donald Trump
But it’s important to underscore a critical point about this: Russian disinformation and Trump disinformation are basically identical and have the same goals.
"I have watched this week’s unfolding events, angry and appalled,” Mattis writes. “The words ‘Equal Justice Under Law’ are carved in the pediment of the United States Supreme Court. This is precisely what protesters are rightly demanding. It is a wholesome and unifying demand—one that all of us should be able to get behind. We must not be distracted by a small number of lawbreakers. The protests are defined by tens of thousands of people of conscience who are insisting that we live up to our values—our values as people and our values as a nation.” He goes on, “We must reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution.”
That would be 'Mad Dog' Mattis who famously said of his 'Murder Inc' career as an American general that 'killing some people is one hell of a hoot.' A war criminal's words on 'our values as a nation'.

Must have missed that. News to me. Both parties evil and ill-intentioned. Sadly see you're still being well played by the NYT and duopoly politics. Good luck with that hope it all works out for you. And your godawful country.
Not in generations has a sitting president so overtly declared himself the candidate of white America. While Mr. Trump’s campaign sought to temper the culture war messaging at the Republican National Convention last month by showcasing Black and Hispanic supporters who denied that he is a racist, the president himself has increasingly made appeals to the grievances of white supporters a centerpiece of his campaign to win a second term.
Perhaps the Horseshoe Theory of politics is true after all. The far right scribes quoted in this blog post are recycling all the golden oldies from NDPP's pals Aaron Mate, Jimmy Dore, and most recently, the Moon of Alabama gang.

The hot new trend in right-wing commentary is to argue that expressions of concern about Donald Trump stealing the election add up to an effort to start a "color revolution" in the United States, similar to rebellions that have arisen in former Soviet bloc nations. The belief on the right is that the uprisings in former Russian satellites were ginned up by a sinister cabal of left-leaning globalists; right-wingers argue that when we say it might require force to remove Trump from office if he's legitimitely defeated, we're saying it because we want to use force. In August, Michael Brendan Dougherty argued this for National Review, and now we have Miranda Devine of the New York Postmaking a similar assertion, under the headline "Antifa Riots May Be Part of Democrat Power Grab."

That won't stop Donald Trump from declaring himself the winner on election night if the results show him in the lead. Because he's already declared that he thinks mail in ballots are fraudulent.
"...A particularly alarming and disturbingly credible assumption of the Transition Integrity Project game is that in this election, neither side is prepared to accept defeat. The scenario exercises 'revealed that for many Democrats and key Democratic constituencies, this election represents an existential crisis, the last chance to stop a rapid and irreversible US decline into authoritarianism and unbridled nativism.' Why a Biden Presidency Will Disappoint Progressive Democrats
"...The ones who would be most disappointed with a center-right Biden regime will be those 'progressives' who currently support his campaign. At the same time, Biden's foreign policy team is filling up with liberal interventionists from the Obama era, and with neo-conservatives. A Biden win will mean a revival of the war on Syria, no renewal of the nuclear deal with Iran and other hawkish foreign policies.
Sure the policies of a Biden presidency would look more polished and presentable than the boorish ways in which Trump acts. But we can certainly expect that a Biden presidency, won in the election or through the Democrats well planned color-revolution scheme, will be to the right of the center-right policies Barack Obama implemented. This will hold for domestic issues as well as with regards to foreign policy."

Complete proof that the rule of law in international relations has been reduced to the US having numerous departments and agencies that feel they have the right to steal anyone's money anywhere in the world if they try to expose American corruption at work in their country.
The Ukraine like many of the former SSR's got fleeced by a roving cabal of US based financial grifters. Talking about that apparently amounts to immorally trying to steal an American election. That after decades of US lies and propaganda being sent around the world by VOA.
Why a Biden Presidency Will Disappoint Progressive Democrats
That's actually not true. Many progressives who are voting for Biden are under no illusions that he will do anything progressive. Their argument is that Trump represents a unique threat to democracy, that the most urgent matter right now is removing him from office, and then after that they plan to organize to get their priorities implimented. That is why the Movement for a People's Party is resonating right now. Their goal is to build a viable thrid party for the long term. While tapping into the frustration people feel about having to choose between Biden or Trump, they aren't running a candiate for President who can take votes from Biden. This shields them against the criticism that they will only split the vote and re-elect Trump.
If the People's Party runs candidates anywhere, even in the safest Democratic seats in the country, Democrats will accuse them of being the reason Republicans win and double down on their appeal-only-to-the-right strategy. Canadians have seen this playbook in every election since the CCF was formed.
"...The problem with elections is that it's all reduced to personalities based on fear. You vote for Joe Biden because of the fear of Trump. Biden himself is not offering anything other than the kind of continuum that got us into this mess. In fact Biden was one of the architects of neo-liberal policies and endless war. We should be clear. It's not just voting against Trump, you're voting for something.
You know I teach in a prison. We can begin with The Victims of Crime and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 which Biden pushed through and gave over 30 billion dollars to police and prisons. Biden pushed all the death penalty issues. He was one of the architects of NAFTA. He was one of the cheerleaders of the war. He was a segregationist. He's many times called for an assault on social security.
Look, there is no way within the American political system to vote against the interests of Goldman-Sachs. So whether you have the civil and palatable face of Biden or the narcissistic, divisive racist rants of Trump, the actual system of corporate power is untouched. Let's be clear. Biden was selected by the Democratic Oligarchic elite figures like Lloyd Blankfein and others who made very public that if Bernie Sanders was the nominee, they would vote for Trump..."

Jesse Ventura is a major player in this movement, and I think his involvement is crucial. I think he can win over Republican voters who vote Republican mainly because of resentment of the Democrats as the Estbalishment.

I was never a big thumper for Donald Trump, and I didn't vote for him in 2016 (or Hillary), but I will this time... here is my bill of particulars against the Democratic Party and what it has come to represent in recent years (and I write as someone who has remained a registered Democrat since 1972):..."
Yikes!
Because people have seen Trump as president the last four years.
And interesting that this supposed "leftist" is making charges even Republicans haven't made. A response to a story becomes "coordination."

"Canadian officials should read this: in all scenarios except a landslide Biden win, there is a good chance of violence, instability and a constitutional crisis in the US after the November election. This has major implications for Canada."
DNC 'Transition Integrity Project' agit-prop comes to the great white north. Better get to work on that border wall Canucklheads!

NDPP and the Republicans. Perfect together. Once again.
But I figure you'd be quite experienced enough to spot agitprop

Must have missed that. News to me. Both parties evil and ill-intentioned. Sadly see you're still being well played by the NYT and duopoly politics. Good luck with that hope it all works out for you. And your godawful country.

Perhaps the Horseshoe Theory of politics is true after all. The far right scribes quoted in this blog post are recycling all the golden oldies from NDPP's pals Aaron Mate, Jimmy Dore, and most recently, the Moon of Alabama gang.
When all else fails (and it has), shoot the messengers of the obvious, cling for dear life to the usual purveyors of putrefaction and try to fail again only better.
If you take the insults out of this comment, there's nothing left. That seems to be a trend with many of your posts.
Indeed, and then there's this pandemic related problem.
The mail-in ballots won't have been counted election night, so it will be impossible to declare a winner. If there is no winner election night, there is no reason to concede defeat. Of course, you realize that, don't you?
Useful Idiots...

That won't stop Donald Trump from declaring himself the winner on election night if the results show him in the lead. Because he's already declared that he thinks mail in ballots are fraudulent.
Useful idiot? Physician, heal thyself.
Election 2020: Bourgeois Democracy Meets Global Governance

"...A particularly alarming and disturbingly credible assumption of the Transition Integrity Project game is that in this election, neither side is prepared to accept defeat. The scenario exercises 'revealed that for many Democrats and key Democratic constituencies, this election represents an existential crisis, the last chance to stop a rapid and irreversible US decline into authoritarianism and unbridled nativism.' So, as much as Trump, many Democrats are ready to stop at nothing to win this election - for the best of reasons, of course..."
Why a Biden Presidency Will Disappoint Progressive Democrats
https://www.moonofalabama.org/2020/09/why-a-biden-presidency-will-disapp...

As I have long suggested, targeting Trump's mishandling of COVID-19 will prove far more productive than implausible fairy-tales about a 'Kremlin asset.'
I think you're right about that.
