New Poll in Washington Monthly on U.S views on Socialism......

POLL OF THE DAY.... For a couple of months, every sentence from Republican officials and Fox News personalities had to include the word "socialism" while attacking the president. It didn't have much of an effect.

Maybe the smears didn't connect because people don't think "socialism" is all that bad.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 20% disagree and say socialism is better. Twenty-seven percent (27%) are not sure which is better.

Adults under 30 are essentially evenly divided: 37% prefer capitalism, 33% socialism, and 30% are undecided. Thirty-somethings are a bit more supportive of the free-enterprise approach with 49% for capitalism and 26% for socialism. Adults over 40 strongly favor capitalism, and just 13% of those older Americans believe socialism is better.

Specifically, Rasmussen asked respondents, "Which is a better system -- capitalism or socialism?" A narrow majority (53%) supported capitalism as the superior system. One in five backed socialism, and a surprisingly high 27% weren't sure.

The Conservative commentators are changing tactics since people think the Socialist word is not that bad. They are accusing the President of being a Facist.  Fox news and Glen Beck is ranting and raving. The Conservatives are a minority and they don't like it. Rush Limbaugh and Hannity are both losing it.

Yes, they are certainly losing it, and they are carrying on about Obama bowing before the Saudi king, and how no president has ever done that before. When indeed Bush went well beyond a bow, and kissed and held hands with him. :D

It needs to be pointed out that capitalism moves to fascism, not socialism. Again just continued attempts to turn lies into truth and counting upon people to believe the bs, like Canwest is doing here in Canada.

Calling Obama a fascist might strike some as being a lot more accurate than calling him a socialist.

To say nothing of the fact that Bush and his whole family treated Prince Bandar (the Saudi Ambassador at the time ot 9/11) as a virtual cousin, referring to him(as Michael Moore informed us all in "Fahrenheit 9/11" as "Bandar Bush".
