While its allies struck a nuclear deal with Iran, Canada decided to skip the parade. The United States, the European Union, the United Nations will all lift an array of economic sanctions under the agreement, but Canada, at least for now, has no plans to follow suit.

The Real Reasons Behind the Iran Nuke Deal  -  by Paul Craig Roberts

"The US and its proxies continue to murder people over a large area of the earth. Clearly Obama is not a man of peace, and neither are his European enablers and the UN. So what is the reason for the accommodation with Iran?

If you can free yourself from the brainwashing from the presstitute media, three BIG reasons jump out at you..."

Canada To Keep Sanctions Against Iran Despite Nuclear Deal

Canada will keep its sanctions in place - at least for now - despite the nuclear agreement Iran has reached with major world powers. But Prime Minister Stephen Harper was caught between two allies on this deal. While Washington pushed for a deal, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned against it.

So far, Mr Harper is sticking with Mr Netanyahu..."

Sadly, as would Mr Mulcair or Mr Trudeau. Welcome to Zionist Canada

I'd personally erect a solid gold statue of any Canadian Prime Minister to tell Israel to go fuck themselves. On second thought, any Western leader would be a hero to stand up to the rogue,Apartheid terrorist state of Israel.

I can make this promise because the likelyhood of that happening is less than zero.

Zionist Canada,Zionist US,Zionist EU. Everybody loses.

CIJA: After the Iran Deal, A Call For Action

"The nuclear deal with Iran is a stunning diplomatic failure. For Israelis and Jews around the world this isn't about politics - it's about the long-term survival of the Jewish state. Even if Iran were to choose not to use atomic bombs, the regime will possess a nuclear umbrella that will empower it to further export terrorism and its violent Islamist agenda.

As Jewish Canadians, we must channel our concern, disappointment and yes, anger into effective advocacy. We have an extraordinary opportunity to do so, given Canada's strong stand against Iran.

Moreover, the NDP and the Liberals have both supported sanctions and advocated strong verification measures to ensure Iranian compliance with its nuclear obligations..."

*note to Canadian voters. There is no non-Zionist option.

Canada's Support for Israel Leading to Its Isolation, Iran Warns

"The continued radical stances by Canadian officials against Iran, specifically under the present conditions, shows that the Canadian government's approach towards Iran laks a logical rationale,' Fars News Agency quoted Foreign Ministry spokesperson Marziyeh Afkham as sayin on Thursday.

She added: 'By following the Zionist regime's stances, Canada's conservative government is quickly moving towards a self-imposed isolation in the international community and even among its old allies.

Canada severed diplomatic relations with Iran in 2012, with its then foreign minister John Baird citing the Tehran regime as 'among the world's worst violators of human rights,' and charging that it 'shelters and materially supports terrorist groups.'

Israel Clears the Bench in Iran Fight  -  by Robert Parry

Israel - in its desperation to kill the Iran nuclear deal - is exposing its often denied influence over the US political/media process. Israeli officials are even using football analogies to rally US lawmakers while emptying the bench of friendly 'experts' to mount a goal-line stand.

'If we don't take out Iran, they will take out us...Because if you don't your children will never forgive you - never forgive you for not protecting this country from a holocaust. For not protecting the state of Israel from a holocaust that will occur assuredly just as it did 70 years ago. Rarely in our lives do we have an opportunity to change history. Now is the time to do it..."

Poll: American Jews Support Iran Nuclear Deal  - by Richard Silverstein

"...The results are startling because they expose a huge divide between the position of the Israel lobby and Jewish leadership, and the rest of the community. While the Lobby is preparing to spend $50 million or more in an all-out blitz to derail the deal before Congress, American Jews generally support it.

Cohen finds that 49% of Jewish respondents support the deal and 31% oppose it. When asked whether Congress should support it, 53% said Yes, 35% No.

Among Jews under 40, the result was 59% in favor and 25% opposed. This confirms a rising generation gap between younger and older Jews around questions concerning Israel..."

Defense Secretary; Deal Imposes No Limits on US Attacking Iran

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter today insisted the deal provides 'no limits' to US attacks. Carter has repeatedly talked up the idea of the US following onto the nuclear deal with a unilateral strike on Iran for some unspecified reason, and presented the notion multiple times in the week after the deal's announcement, during which he visited Israel and sought to assure them that war was still in the works..."

Netanyahu Says Kerry Has No Reason To Come To Israel

"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Secretary of State Kerry has no reason to visit Israel, after it emerged that the top diplomat would skip Tel Aviv in his tour of the Middle East.

'He really has no reason to come here,' Netanyahu told reporters. The agreement with Iran 'has nothing to do with us, and has no influence on us,' the Israeli premier said. 'We're not at the table, we are one of the courses on the menu itself.'

In remarks before the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) on Friday, Kerry suggested that if Congress rejects the Iran agreement, the world would hold Israel responsible, because of its extensive campaign against it."

'Bomb Iran' Plan Simply Won't Go Away  -  by Pepe Escobar

"Even before the August recess on Capital Hill, the dogs of war, unleashed by remote control from Tel Aviv, predictably are trying to tear the Iran-P5+1 nuclear deal to shreds from all sides.

No wonder, under these circumstances, Washington simply cannot be trusted by Tehran.

So the geopolitical path ahead for Iran - whatever happens after the deal is ratified in both capitals and the package of sanctions starts to unravel by late 2015/early 2016 - is Eurasia integration.

That implies closer cooperation - and a three-way strategic partnership between Iran, Russia and China. And that further implies the 'Bomb Iran' dogs of war getting even more bloodthirsty."

'Deal or War': Is Doomed Dollar Rally Behind Obama's Iran Warning - by Finian Cunningham

"US President Barack Obama has given an extraordinary ultimatum to the Republican-controlled Congress, arguing that they must not block the nuclear accord with Iran. 'It's either 'deal or war', he said.

In a televised nationwide address on August 5, Obama said, 'Congressional rejection of this deal leaves any US administration that is absolutely committed to preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon with one option: another war in the Middle East. I say this not to be provocative. I am stating a fact.'

This is not just about Iran. It is about other major world economies moving away from holding the US dollar as a means of doing business. If the US unilaterally scuppers the international nuclear accord, Washington will no longer be able to enforce its financial hegemony, which the sanctions regime on Iran has undperpinned..."

340 American Rabbis Fully Support Historic Iran Nuclear Accord

"Hundreds of American rabbis have put weight behind the historic nuclear agreement reached between Iran and the six world powers in July. In a letter to US lawmakers on Monday, 340 rabbis called on Congress to approve the July 14 accord.

'We are deeply concerned with the impression that the leadership of the American Jewish community is united in opposition to the agreement. We, along with many other Jewish leaders, fully support this historic nuclear accord."

US Press Blacks Out Israeli Defense Minister's Citation of 'Nagasaki and Hiroshima' as Model For Dealing with Iran (and vid)

"This is a story about the media blackout of important information about Israel: That their leaders are seriously misguided: Two weeks ago Electronic Intifada reported public comments by Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon in which he cited Hiroshima and Nagasaki as role models in responding to Iran."

Accusing Obama of Anti-Semitism Enables AIPAC To Wield Power But Escape Scrutiny  -  by Peter Beinart

"US President Barack Obama has really done it this time. To sell his Iran deal 'he's hinting broadly at anti-Semitic conceits.' He's 'using terms that are often code words for Jews.' And his minions are using 'anti-Jewish incitement as a political tool.' How could the vast majority of American Jews have voted, twice, for a man so eager to demonize them?

And how could Obama's Jewish deputy secretary of state, his Jewish deputy national security advisor, his Jewish ambassador to Israel, his Jewish director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (which oversees Iran sanctions) and his Orthodox Jewish Treasury secretary - all of whom are playing key roles in promoting the Iran agreement - be part of this rhetorical pogrom?"

The US Radically Changes Its Story of the Boats in Iranian Waters To An Even More Suspicious Version  -  by Glenn Greenwald

"...So, to recap the US media narrative: when the US Navy enters Iran's territorial waters without permission or notice, and Iran detains them and then releases them within 24 hours, Iran is the aggressor; and the same is true when Iran aggressively allows one of its civilian jets to be shot down by the US Navy.

And no matter how many times the US government issues patently false statements about its military actions, those statements are entitled to unquestioning, uncritical treatment as Truth the next time a similar incident occurs."

Western Imposed Sanctions Against Tehran To Be Lifted Saturday - Iranian FM

"Today is a good day for the Iranian people as sanctions will be lifted today,' the ISNA cited Zarif as saying. The Iranian foreign minister is also due to meet US Secretary of State John Kerry later Saturday. Oil majors Total and Shell already sent senior executives to Tehran ahead of the expected lifting of sanctions, Iran's Mehr news agency reports."

Iran Will Continue to Upgrade Missile Might: Foreign Ministry

"...The statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry said Iran's missiles erve defensive and determent purposes and have not been designed to carry nuclear warheads.

'The Iranian missile program has by no means been designed to carry nuclear weapons and is not in controvention of any international principle,' it said.

The statement said the US has been selling tens of billions of dollars of weaponry to countries in the region, adding that the weapons are being used against the people of Palestine, Lebanon and Yemen. The invention of excuses by the US is bereft of any legal or moral legitimacy..."

I should have posted the article on the Riverine boats here but I thought it would be off topic. Because nobody is reading the post there and it could be that they don't understand what "Riverine" is about.

In any case, there's no explanation for what happened other than it was a set up to kill the Iran nuclear deal.

Iran: Lifting Sanctions and Coming Betrayal

"US policymakers have long conspired to broker what would be meant to appear as a historic deal with the political order in Tehran. It would be a deal almost unreasonably compromising for the US, in order to enhance the illusion that the West, sought every means to integrate Iran speedily back into the 'international community' before resorting to armed and direct military aggression..."

Canada To Lift Tehran Sanctions, Allow Bombardier To Export To Iran

"Canada confirmed for the first time on Tuesday that it plans to lift its sanctions on Tehran and said if Airbus is allowed to sell to Iran, then its aircraft maker Bombardier Inc should be allowed to export there as well.

Dion also said Iran had a poor human rights record and was not a friend of allies such as Israel."

Who has an excellent human rights record and is the only democracy in the Middle East right?

Your quote which is the second to last in your post, has a 'it' notation in a circle before it. What does that mean? Does it mean that it's not a part of the article quoted?

And in answer to your question. It's a popular notion that had or has a poor human rights record. But in fact Iran's record is not as bad as some of the evil monarchies of the ME and certainly isn't as bad as Saudi. And then the apartheid state has to have the world's worse human rights record of all in some of the same respects but moreso in different respects.

I also noticed that your question wasn't worded as a question but was a continuation of the quote above it, with a question mark at the end. But I don't mind accepting it as a question and I've answered accordingly.

I hope you have an answer for my question? I always question reuters these days because we have caught them putting a dishonest slant in their reporting in order to further the US war efforts.

Canada Lifts Iran Sanctions To Restore Ties

"Canada announced on Friday that it is lifting some sanctions agains Iran and is also working over the restoration of diplomatic ties with the Islamic Republic. The statment, issued by Foreign Affairs Minister Stephane Dion and International Trade Minister Chrystia Freeland, says the changes announced Friday, mean 'Canadian companies will now be better positioned to compete with other companies globally..."

As a member of a supposed democracy, did you have any say in the original imposition of these punishing sanctions? Let alone their removal? Canada is in actuality an oligarchy NOT a democracy.

And how will the US react to this? Apply pressure to the EU to stop Iran from trading in Euros?

It's good news because Iran is showing that it's not afraid of the US because Russia and China have Iran's back. Hopefully Russia and China have communicate that to Iran and the coalition of the antiwar side is coming together as a more visible deterrent to US aggression.
