Russian Defense Minister: Israel Bears Full Responsibility For Downing of IL-20 Off Syrian Coast

"Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu officially stated that Israel bears full responsibility for the downing of a Russian IL-20 plane off the Syrian coast because its actions had led to this situation.

'The blame for the downing of the Russian plane and the death of its crew members lies squarely on the Israeli side,' Shoigu said during a conversation with Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman on the phone. 'The actions of the Israeli military were not in keeping with the spirit of the Russian-Israeli partnership, so we reserve the right to respond.'

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry revealed that Israeli warplanes used the IL-20 to hide from Syrian air defense fire during the Sept 17 strike on targets in the war-torn country. 'By using the Russian plane as a cover the Israeli pilots made it vulnerable to Syrian air defense fire. As a result, the Ilyushin-20, its reflective surface being greater than that of an F-16, was downed by a missile launched with the S-200 system,' Konashenkov said."

There’s more to this than meets the eye. Syria shouldn’t have been shooting SA200 missiles all over the place that weren’t guided by ground radar and were relying on their onboard sensors to find a target.  But don't let that stop you from blaming everybody but Syria.

The obvious solution was S-300 coverage and no fly zone long before now. For that I blame Putin and a 5th column unduly influenced by USrael.

I disagree; Russia is being smart in not giving Syria one of their most advanced air defense systems. If they do that Israel, NATO and the US would get one of the greatest training aids in figuring out how to defeat the system. And before you start ALL air defense systems can be defeated or degraded if only for enough time for your aircraft to get in and out: it just takes practice, time and exposure to it. That would include any systems crewed by Russians as well... they only use the SA300 radar systems deployed in Syria on a limited basis because the more you broadcast your radar and targeting signals the more your opponents can study it (think about it).

The truth is Syria isn't worth Russia showing one of its more advanced air defense hands (too much).

OK, sounds logical. You've convinced me Bec. Caw! Of course that doesn't explain why they would then turn around and sell their more advanced S-400 system to NATO's Turkey, does it?

Israel's Failed Attempt to Start WWIII is the Beginning of the End in Syria

"This is Israel's worst nightmare. A situation where any aerial assault on targets within Syria would be suicide missions, puncturing the myth of the Israeli air force's superiority and shifting the delicate balance of power in Syria decidedly against them."

What the Idlib Deal Means for the Syrian War

Syrian War Takes A New Turn (podcast)

"On today's episode of Loud & Clear, Brian Becker and John Kiriakou are joined by Peter Ford, the former British Ambassador to Syria, and Mark Sleboda, an international affairs and security analyst. The governments of Russia and Turkey yesterday announced a demilitarized zone in the Syrian province of Idlib, a move that appears to have delayed what was believed to be an imminent assault on the area by the Syrian Army."

I don't know. It could be an export version without all the bells and whistles.

Russia: Israel To Blame For Downed Plane Over Syria, Deliberately Misled Us

Russia To Supply S-300 to Syria Within 2 Weeks After IL-20 Downing During Israeli Raid

"Within 2 weeks Russia will complete the delivery to Damascus of an S-300 air defense system previously suspended on a request by Israel as part of the response to the downing of a Russian plane amid an Israeli air raid on Syria. Arguably, the most concerning thing for Israel will be the delivery of an S-300 anti-aircraft system which will boost Syria's capabilities to deny Israel access to its airspace..."

US Official Calls Syrian Gov't 'Flopping Cadaver of a Regime', Threatens to Make Life Miserable For Them

"The new US envoy for Syria Jim Jeffrey spoke to the Reuters News Agency on Friday regarding the creation of a new constitution. Jeffrey told Reuters that if the Syrian government does not comply with the US demands, they will impose similar sanctions they used against Iran prior to the 2015 nuclear agreement.

'Even if the UN Security Council won't pass them we will just do it through the European Union, we will do it through our Asian allies, and then we will make it our business to make life as miserable as possible for that flopping cadaver of a regime and let the Russians and Iranians, who made this mess, get out of it,' Jeffrey boasted.

Jeffrey was recently assigned this diplomatic role by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in August; he served in a similar capacity in Iraq during the Bush regime."

Canada supports.

Although I posted at length on this, at the time and afterwards, the only criticism ever registered was strictly limited to supposed casualties elsewhere such as with the liberation of Aleppo, which msm attributed to Russian or Syrian forces, even though history now shows the worst destruction by far was caused by the US-led coalition of which Canada is a member. I expect, as with Libya, it will take Canadian 'progressives' some time to come to grips with the full and ugly truth of our involvement in Syria.

Syria - US (Again) Only Pretends To Fight ISIS

"The US occupying force and its Kurdish proxy SDF in northeastern Syria are supposed to fight the Islamic State in its last hold out northeast of the Euphrates. Putin's Interests in Syria and Lebanon are Limiting Israel's Military Options

"Haaretz reports Israel's aggressive military role in Syria is finished because Putin has established a defensive 'umbrella' over northwest Syria, adopting a 'confrontational' stance toward Israeli airstrikes against Syrian government and allied targets."

Idlib's Rebels United Under Al Qaeda Banner While Syria Prepares Offensive

"The US will likely do all it can to prevent an upcoming Syrian military offensive in Idlib, with the aim of protecting its own interests in Syria, even if it means backing a force of rebels united in their allegiance to al Qaeda. With all Idlib rebels now operating under the al Qaeda banner, it is no longer possible to make the assertion that the province includes 'moderate rebels.'

In the meantime, the US military is setting up five observation posts in northern Syria that will stretch across the Al Raqqah and Al Hasakah provinces."

Selective Outrage? Recent Toxic Strike in Aleppo Doesn't Grip MSM Attention

"Russian chemists have confirmed the attack carried out on Saturday night on the Syrian city of Aleppo involved toxic substances. Dozens of vitims remain in hospital, some of them in critical condition. The chemical assault has in fact drawn far less attention in the international media than previous attacks...Why?"

Because the likely culprits are Western proxies.

Report: US To Leave Syria Immediately

"The Wall Street Journal just reported that US troops prepare to leave northeast Syria, 'a move that throws the American strategy in the Middle East into turmoil.' It seems that Erdogan made a deal with Trump which is now turned into practical moves.

Yesterday Turkey suddenly offered to buy advanced US Patriot missile defense systems. It had earlier decided to buy the Russian S-400 system. Now we learn of the US troops move-out. What other surprises are in the deal? What does Trump get out of it? How does this change Turkey's relations with Russia? With the US moveout there will be a race to take those parts of Syria that the US leaves..."

Not the first time the US has announced they are leaving Syria. Will believe it when actual facts on the ground indicate it is so.

Quid pro quo with Turkey was the motivating factor in the withdrawal?  And as usual the Kurds get screwed.

With all the controversy over Trump withdrawing from Syria, I really wish even one commentator would ask the obvious question: "When the hell did we invade Syria?" Obama moved America into the conflict so stealthily that it went from "Assad's a vicious tyrant bombing his own people, we're not involved" to "Okay, some of our allies are arming the peaceful democracy-loving rebels" to "Obviously we're arming the good rebels" to "We may occasionally be bombing ISIS across the border" to "We've always had troops on the ground" without anybody noticing. America is at war with Syria; America has always been at war with Syria.

Trump: We're leaving Syria.

DC: Leaving Syria will be a disaster.

American public: Wait, we're in Syria?

So it begins!

The US is pulling out of Syria for good reason, China is there fighting Islamic extemists!

China, from my understanding (focus from Chinese media) is super pissed off with Islamic extemism in middle eastern countries, and the spillover to the western province regions in China.

I suspect the middle east training of Islamic extremism is going to become China's #1 enemy! Just like the imperialist French/US was during the 1950-s to 1970's in Vietnam/South East Asia! We all know how that one ended.

When I was in China, I personally viewed a lot of anti Israel news in the Chinese media! To me, it's clear that China has just about had enough of Israel.

Expect absolutely shit zero from western corporate news media about this NDPP! The influence of the super anti imperialist power China will be ignored in hopes of going away.

Please post anything specific on Chinese military presence in Syria. I am not aware of any.

Continued American Occupation of the Middle East Does Not Suppress Terrorism, it Causes It.

"Even the neo-con warmongers' house journal The Guardian, furious at Trump's attempts to pull US troops out of Syria, in providing a map to illustrate its point, could only produce one single, very uncertain, very short pen stroke to describe the minute strip of territory it claims ISIS still controls on the Iraqi border.

The secret to ending the strength of ISIS in Syria is not the continued presence of the American troops. it is for America's ever closer allies in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf to cut off the major arteries of money and arms, which we should never forget in origin and for a long time had a strong US component.

The US/Saudi/Israeli alliance against Iran is the most important geopolitical factor in the region today. it is high time this alliance stopped both funding ISIS and pretending to fight it. Schizophrenia is not a foreign policy stance..."

NDPP wrote:

Here you go.

NDPP, there's no doubt China has military forces and intelligence in Syria. It's limited and focused towards Chinese Islamic extremists in Syria that are being trained by western imperialist forces.

From above link:

The increasing threat of domestic terrorism is a significant motivator for China’s possible growing military cooperation with Syria and other states in the Middle East. An estimated 5,000 Chinese Uyghurs are currently fighting alongside the Islamic State (ISIS) and other radical groups in Syria, most of which are concentrated in Idlib. In 2017, ISIS issued its first direct threat against China, promising to shed “blood like rivers,” in an attempt to fill its ranks with Uyghurs. Threats from supposed Uyghur terrorists circulated on Chinese social media around the same time, professing that “when the Syrian War ends, that is the day when China’s biggest fear begins.” The same year, China reportedly deployed forces to Syria to assist the Syrian government’s counterterrorism operations. Now, by increasing military cooperation Beijing may be able to help address the threat in Idlib.

Edited to add that in the above link, it's mentioned that Hua Wei will be getting contracts to help Syria rebuild their telecommunication! Ya the same Hua Wei 孟晚舟is from!

Hey NDPP, check out this guys clip linked here

Thanks WWWTT. I am fairly familar with Syrian events, players on the ground, and the talk of Chinese involvement but don't believe there is any significant military presence as yet.

'No Troops in Syria': China Refutes Media Reports...

"...Recently, some media speculations that China is going to involve in the Syrian conflict emerged. That is a false picture of the Chinese policy. These Arab media, which issued the relevant material, later explained that China had no military presence in Syria. China is strongly advocating settlement of the conflict only by peaceful means...China has never sent its troops to Syria,' Xie told reporters..."

PS if you check the Syrian threads you will find I regularly post Syriana analysis clips which are excellent.

Officialy there is not any major Chinese military in Syria. But there is a presence! There's no question that there is Chinese Islamic extremists in Syria training and fighting. And for sure this will bring the PLA into play. I think you need to read between the lines here in these links NDPP

NDPP, if you think that China will leave it's security in the hands of a foreign regime, you're just simply wrong!
