Women’s Boat to Gaza (WBG): An All-Women Boat, To Break the Siege of GazaBy Vyara Gylsendepth Report: FLOTILLA TO Gaza
30 5 1 39
A group of women from all over the world are about to embark on a dangerous journey on board the Women’s Boat to Gaza (WBG). Two vessels are leaving from Barcelona on 14 September with the goal of reaching the besieged Palestinian enclave by early October in a symbolic breaking of the Israeli-Egyptian blockade.
One of these women is Zohar Chamberlain Regev, an Israeli citizen who was born and raised in Kibbutz Kfar Hahoresh, near Nazareth. She has been living in Spain for the past 12 years and has been involved in the Spanish component of Freedom Flotilla work since 2012. She coordinates the Women’s Boat to Gaza Steering Committee and is a team leader onboard the Amal.
“We want to give visibility to women in Palestine who have been struggling alongside the men since before the Nakba, since the beginning of the Zionist colonisation of Palestine,” says Regev.

Three Canadian women will be on the boat including Paul Manley's mother.

Here is the actual site of the women's boat to Gaza: https://wbg.freedomflotilla.org/
Odd that there are no Québécoises, unless they are listed separately. Québec solidaire MNA Manon Massé was on the boat in 2011. I was on the communications committee supporting the effort with press releases, translations and other communications, during the last two attempts. Well, we'll stiil have to see the final makeup of the crew.
All I can say is I fear for them and "pray" none become martyrs.
Thanks Meg!
I wonder if we still have our "boat" ... the Mtl group supporting the Boat had built a mock boat to hoist and carry to demos here.
I don't know any of the Canadians this time, but I'll peruse the blog and see if there is anyone I know (here or elsewhere) involved.
That is the same site my link goes to???
Yes, but it isn't the dubious "global research" site.
Lagatta, I think you missed krop's post #2 above, where he did indeed link to the same site as you. But no big deal.
Israel Issues Orders to Intercept All-Women Gaza-Bound FlotillaBy Palestinian Information CenterGlobal Research, October 02, 2016The Palestinian Information Center 2 October 2016
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– The Israeli occupation navy has received instructions to intercept women’s boat to Gaza and arrest onboard activists, Israeli daily Maariv reported Sunday....

There is one Israeli Embassy in Canada.
Statement from Members of European Parliament (5 October 2016)
“Today at 15:58 the Women’s Boat to Gaza, Zaytouna-Oliva, has lost communication, and we can presume that the Israeli Occupation Navy has surrounded it in International Waters (Lat +31.906033 Lon +33.757630). This is inside the self-proclaimed “military exclusion zone” imposed unilaterally and illegally by the Israeli government, in contravention of international law. We call on all governments, public officials and people of conscience to support publically the right of unimpeded passage for peaceful civilian navigation, and the physical integrity of the crew and participants on board, and to support full freedom of movement for all peoples, in particular the Palestinians of Gaza. We demand European authorities to take action now to assure information from the activists and to demand their immediate liberation.”
