The current structure of Babble page does not encourage active debate.
The earlier structure was more progressive.
Am I wrong?
I couldn't agree with you more--unfortunately, we had to take that feature off the front page temporarily because the enormous increase in traffic during the election campaign was a massive drain on our resources. That feature took up a lot of bandwidth, since it's constantly mining the website for updates, and so as a short-term fix, it was removed. Our tech folk are working to get it back or find an alternative. Thanks for your concern--I am in complete accord!
to be honest, even if the "active topics" link was just more prominently displayed up at the top of the page, it would be fine. then the site could avoid the problems with bandwidth and babble would still be easily accessible right when you go to the page!
us lefties are just SO resistant to change! ;)
