City of Ottawa to Host Arms Shows this Fall (Sept.30-Oct.1)
In 1989, Ottawa's City Council wisely decided to ban all future arms exhibitions from taking place on municipal property. For almost 20 years no such arms shows have taken place at any City of Ottawa facilities.
Now, the arms shows are back! City Staff have signed a contract with organizers of a large military trade show called "Secure Canada 2008," sponsored in part by the US Embassy, and are negotiating with organizers of an even bigger show next year called "CANSEC 2009."
