What's a matter? Didn't Canada's fruit juice producers pay enough money like the diary industry, and the cattle indusrty does to keep them in the guide?
Will fruit juice be cut from Canada's Food Guide?
I don't know how much (or little) of this has anything to do with shady, under-the-table lobbying.
But it's somewhat interesting on its own merits. If a cup of wheat bran every day is a good thing, does it become a bad thing if I add some sugar? In other words, does sugar "undo" whatever good that amount of fibre does?
Is it the case that -- let's say -- the fibre makes me 30% less likely to develop colon cancer, but the sugar makes me 20% more likely to develop diabetes?
And if I eat fruit, minus that fibre (which is to say, just the juice) does it lack vitamins and nutrients and whatever non-fibre stuff makes fruit a good thing?
