My computer is gone, in fact it went last night, I'm writing this on my dad's computer. The kitchen table has gone too, my parents have given it to me. My other stuff, (books DVDs etc) will be taken in later today. I will soon be ensconced in my apartment at the Tom Uphill Manor, a residence for seniors and people with disabilities, which was a former old folks home. It was sold to the Fernie Family Housing society by the B.C. government for a song in the run up to the last provicial election. My apartment is quite spacious,(it probably won't be quite so roomy after my all my stuff gets moved) although the paint job could be improved. It'll be like living in a tik tak, If tik taks had hard wood floors, that is. Paint job aside however, it's still MINE!(MWAHAAHA!) and my parents are only about ten minutes away and I'll have 24 hour care. I'll also be coming home on the weekends, if I don't, I won't have any hours left over for outings.
It should be noted that this is a stepping stone, I don't plan to be here forever

Many congratulations on your own place, CMOT! Moving is a huge pain, but once everything is in it will (hopefully) be fun for you to decide where things go, put stuff up on the walls, etc. Do you know how long you're going to stay, as in a few months or a year? If it's a short time like less than a year I recommend you save your boxes. I say this as a veteran mover, boxes can be very hard to find.
But hooray for you!

My mom and dad are doing the heavy lifting.
In order to give this a fair I'll have to stay for at least six months. If I can't can't handle it after that, I'll have to go to the lower mainland probably to Richmond, to a place called Steveston residence.
It'll be okay, but tonight at dinner, I was the yougest person at my assigned table.
I'm so happy for you, CMOT. Congratulations! I hope you settle in well and that everything works out for you.
This is exciting! Great way to start the new year. All the best, CMOT.
Great news CMOT. Things look good.
So how's it going, CMOT?
Check your PMs.

Well, it's a place with great potential. I don't have anyone to play RPGs with though. My brother has said that he'll play an online game with me(I'll be game mastering) but it is isn't at all like playing with real people.

I don't know what you mean by this. I'm curious.
I would imagine that CMOT gets a set amount of care hours, which include outings, if he does not go home weekends he will have to use all his caregiver hours strictly for personal and in home care, as opposed to having extra time left over for outings.
Sociologically speaking I would have been a god. Not a particularly powful god; I probably would have been more of a Loki then a Thor, but a god none the less. Fate tied my shoe laces together however, and I got hurt before I started the race of life. I've been raised in a valley which is sparsley populated and which has more people with mental challenges then physical challenges. Fernie has an activist population which while comitted and filled with good people, is kind of distant from the political ethos that I was brought up with. They seem intent on not offending anyone(they don't have to worry about that, because everyone who shows up at their gatherings, basically agrees with them.) they don't challenge assumptions, are all pretty much the kind of people satirized in the "stuff white people like" blog and seem disconnected from the larger political system
My apartment, while a step in the right direction hasn't really solved the problems I have, which are that I have lead a very sheltered life, am a bit passive, and don't really fit in. There isn't really a place for a neurotic gimpy, sexually confused pseudo intellectual among the organic fruit eating, snowboard having, golden horseshoe hating, wooly hat wearing masses who have decended on this place since the ski boom began ten years ago.
