We have some good news... and some really, really, downright awful news.
Let's get the bad news out of the way first.
According to a new poll by EKOS, support for Stephen Harper's Conservatives is higher than any time since the election 2011. In fact, the Conservatives are on top in the poll.
No doubt about it -- this is a wake-up call for progressives in Canada. Canada can't survive another four years under Stephen Harper.
The Conservatives are harming the environment, undermining social programs like health care, ruining our international reputation as peacekeepers, and stealing our very own democracy from us.
So what are we going to do about it...?
This is where you come in!
My good news is that according to rabble.ca's first All Party Political Poll for 2015, if there were an election held tomorrow... fully 98% of rabble.ca readers would not vote for Stephen Harper's Conservatives. That's awesome!
This gives me hope. You see, when people have information from a trusted, ethical news source like rabble.ca, they won't support Harper's destructive plan for Canada.
So, we need to reach a lot more people -- and win over many new readers just like you -- before election day arrives in October.

We'll use your donation for our 2015 Election Strategy – and the more people we can reach, the better we can inform them how this government is going in the wrong direction!
In 2015, rabble.ca will inform, empower and mobilize people who want change in Ottawa.
More and more, people are looking for new sources of information, because they just can't trust the mainstream media anymore.
Just think about it - nearly every English language daily newspaper in Canada endorsed Stephen Harper in the last election (except the Toronto Star). The Globe and Mail is only interested in wealthy readers to serve up to their advertisers. And even CBC TV news hosts like Peter Mansbridge and Amanda Lang were caught taking money from big oil and financial corporations. What a disgrace.
More people are turning to small, grassroots media sources like rabble.ca because we don't have big corporate owners or advertisers. Our reporters are connected to social movements that want change in Ottawa – not more of Stephen Harper and his far right-wing, divisive politics.
Frankly, rabble.ca is a source that people trust, and I know that you do too.

More people are reading rabble.ca than ever and unlike many news organizations, we have never put up a paywall – at rabble we’ve always believed in making our reporting and analysis free to all, while striving to make it sustainable as well. Media isn’t free to produce. rabble’s total budget is likely less than what big corporate media spend on photocopying (we kid you not!) and we do not have any major foundation, sponsor or angel investor. Our main supporters are people and organizations -- like you. This is why we need your help. You are what keep us sustainable.
rabble.ca has staked its existence on you. We live or die on community support -- your support! We get hundreds of thousands of visitors and we believe in them. We believe in you. We believe people will put in what they can for the greater good. We call that sustainable.
So what is the easy answer for us? Depend on a community of visitors who care passionately about media that amplifies the voices of people struggling for change and justice. It really is that simple. When the people who visit rabble care enough to contribute a bit then it works for everyone.
And so we’re asking you if you could make a donation, right now, to help us carry forward on our mission. Make a donation today.
