Afghan MPs predict 'very big war'

quote:

“The population hates the government, hates the Americans and hates their friends because they are all liars,” he said.

“Soon the jihad will start, that's right. The Americans and the coalition came to Afghanistan by way of the United Nations, but when they go into people's houses and search them it's unacceptable. They are acting against Islam and they are attacking innocent people.

“There will be jihad, I am 100 per cent sure. It's against our culture, it's against Islam — if they want to come to our houses they need permission.”

Then, almost as an afterthought, he added: “If the jihad starts, of course I will join it — it's natural.”

A few weeks ago, I posted this thread:

F... to pull elite troops from Afghanistan

I'm not 100% convinced that the neo-cons can't rescue their imperial misadventure in Afghanistan, but at the same time, I really do feel like they've lost as it stands right now. If what this article is saying is true, then I honestly see no reason as to why history will not repeat itself once again in Afghanistan.

Stuff and nonsense. What do these Afghan MPs matter when we canadians have Peter Mackay explaining how well things are going in Afghanistan.

I wonder where all the young men one might expect to find at a carpentry and welding school might be off to?
