I'm shocked that anyone could get in the 80's!

Well... maybe I'm just nicer than you are. (Oh golly, could that even be possible? )

I'll look at it again although honestly, most of the questions just seemed to deal with good manners and being considerate to others. Maybe I need to learn to be more hard-edged.

Well, a lot of the questions also seem to be aimed at single women, too. A lot of dating etiquette, etc.

You Are 44% Lady

You're part lady, part modern woman.
Etiquette is important to you, but you brush aside rules that are outdated or silly.

I had trouble with some of the questions, For instance, about carrying purses, I generally carry a wallet, so I guess that is a small purse. But others were easy, such as "You err on the side of saying good night early," which I answered with a firm no.

Michelle

Ohfergadsakes, CUEBALL is more of a lady than I am?

I demand a recount. I want to know exactly which ones you checked that I didn't!

remind remind's picture

Weird Michelle, it seems that we checked of nearly the same things.

I checked age as never discussed, IMV birth age should never be factored into anything. It means very little in the scheme of things. Unless there are issues of power and authority because of spread/gap is too large.

I turn my cell phone off in restaurants, offices and hospitals, so I checked that one. I leave all that talking for when I am driving and bored. Actually, I am too cheap to use it, I have it strictly for emergency communications or needed updates, not just to have a conversation on.

I use sexy clothes for sexy occasions, and not just whenever, not job/social appropriate times. So did not check that.

But you gotta know, though I may be a feminist as was my mother, only I guess she was called other in her day, perhaps a blue stocking, or a suffragette, the wearing white rule before Easter and after Labour Day was still used.

And would never discuss dieting at a meal. Nor do I flirt. And though the topic is not taboo I do not discuss my first husband with my second. Nor the other way around. They are very good friends anyway.

But I guess those few thing make you shocking and me have excellent manners, and I was even honest about my loving to interrupt all the time. If they would have had a question about profanity use, I am sure I would've have been right with you on the shocking though.

Cueball Cueball's picture

Well then you should stop "flirting with men you aren't interested in," I never do.

Michelle

Ha! That's not fair, poopsie-woopsie!

I want Stargazer to take this quiz!

So you're saying I'm past the dating etiquette questions? Hmmm?

Michelle

Well, I guess that was kind of an assumption on my part since I suppose your happy marriage COULD be an open one as well, but... Although I see what you mean, since many married people still go on "dates". What I meant, of course, was dating between single people.

I was just thinking that a lot of these questions are skewed towards single women.

Maysie Maysie's picture

I'm 34% lady, but I got the same "write up" that Cueball got for being 10% more lady than me! WTF does that mean?

And my sweetie took the test, and it turns out he's almost double the lady I am!! Maybe that "purse" question got him, as he totes around a humungous backpack.

P.S. I was intrigued by the other tests on the sidebar, so if anyone cares, I'm also Fozzie Bear.

We match Michelle.

You Are 28% Lady***

You tend to make up your rules of etiquette, throwing all conventions aside.
And while you try to be a lady (sometimes), your behavior is often quite shocking.

Are You A Lady?

Stargazer

I scored 28 percent as well.

Have I ever drank too much? For certain, once in a blue moon.

Do I tip 20 percent? Yes always.

If anyone asks my age or weight I answer honestly. I have no shame being 41 and my weight is not an issue. I didn't know women were supposed to be ashamed of age and weight.

Do I discuss politics at the dinner table? Of course! This is brought up in families and on dates quite frequently. I had no idea ladies were not supposed to participate.

I sometimes complain about the weather. Again I had no idea ladies were supposed to be silent in the face of bad weather.

I never answer my cellphone in public or at all if I can help it.

I gossip, we all do. I had no idea this was a trait limited to women.

I have no choice but to discuss my eating habits at a dining table. I'm a vegetarian, people always ask questions.

These questions make an awful lot of assumptions about women. I felt like this quiz was geared towards the Victorian Era.

Its more about courtesy and convention than ladyhood. I'm surprised that there was not a question on whether the quizee had ever worn white after Labour Day.

A more relevant question would be: Are you a Lactivist who insists on breastfeeding in Tim's while your father desperately looks for a rubber shrub to hide behind?

oreobw

Hi, I'm new here. This is mostly just a test post.

However, I did do the test a couple of days ago and got 88%.

Southlander

Yes I got 28% too. I don't think of myself as a lady, but neither do I think of myself as rude. Definitly direct, but never rude. seems like there are only a few numbers you can be? anyone less than 28%?

I got 80%.

Is there a XY chromosome version of this test?

clersal

You Are 56% Lady

You're part lady, part modern woman.
Etiquette is important to you, but you brush aside rules that are outdated or silly.

500_Apples

I'm 8% lady. Half of my points came from the fact I don't flirt with men I'm not interested in

Welcome, lady! (I know, your profile says male, but we all know that the test is all-knowing!)

In the pen-dropping example, I would probably say either, "Excuse me, ma'am, but you dropped your pen" or "Excuse me, sir, but you dropped your pen".

As would almost any other polite citizen, truth be told, and nobody would be offended by it in the least.

It's the same for men. Every man will tell you that he felt really weird the first time some kid called him "mister".

ETA: "Lady" is a useful word for hostile speech, as in "Hey, lady, what shade of green are you waiting for?" or "Look, lady, I don't make the rules, OK?"

You forgot to put your blurb about what 60% means in regards to your ladyness.

I was hoping you wouldn't notice.
