I would challenge all NDP supporters to call every one of their members and topple the harper Government, which as we can all agree on is a far worse choice than having kept the Liberals in power.Unfortunately Jack made a deal with harper to keep the Liberals on a constant defensive mode and leave the harper Government to ram through their corporate control of Government. One would have thought that Jack would have been really really loud in opposition to a North American Union which has been in the making since Mulroney. He has wasted very precious time in making harpers bed and undoing the Liberals and now it has COST THIS GREAT COUNTRY OF OURS. So all you NDP supporters get on Jack's ass instead of letting him continue to BE a jackass.

I didn't vote for Mulroney's conservatives in 88 or Chretien's Liberals in 93. You get what you vote for I guess.

farnival: I based my OPINION on the actions of Jack and the NDP over the tired rhetoric that keeps coming out of that camp.Guess you think only Liberals and conservatives are the ones who make backroom deals.
fidel: you forgot to put part of the Mexican flag in with the Canadian leaf.

I also notice that none of you has said GEE what a good idea,if Jack toppled the Conservative gov.by proving that corporate interference in the Sovereignty of Canda and it's elected officials is going on he could stand the chance of winning big time.

We haven't said it because it isn't true. In fact, nothing you've said is true. Jack never made any deal with the Cons, the NDP has not propped up their government. Opposing the deep integration that most Canadians don't believe is happening wouldn't be a big electoral winner (of course it should be opposed, but certainly not for this reason).

You're just plain wrong.

Fidel

I wonder if after our stoogocrats finally out themselves and sign us all up to become an official colony of gringovia whether they'll allow wetback Canadian labour to build a north-south security fence. Because as imperialist relationships go as a general rule, they'll want to be able to cutoff free flow of labour but not Canadian raw materials and energy. I can envision more roving blackouts and brownouts on this side while the price of our gasoline and natural gas and electricity rates go through the roof. Public opinion here just won't matter after NAU because the corporatocracy will tell us it's not our country anymore, and, love your Northern Puerto Rico or leave it.

I haven't been exactly enamoured with Layton's performance lately, but really now, why don't you Liberal hacks do your Own work at toppling this government? It's Your party who controls the second largest number of seats in the House, it's your party who always found just enough members to keep this goverment from falling earlier, and yes, it is your party that first agreed to such anti-Canadian, anti-democratic "trade" deals like "deep integration". Years after lying about renegotiating the original FTA.

You really want to turn things around on Harper? Stop blaming others for your own failures and stop campaigning Against the left, and then you might just get some of that 36 percent back ---you know, the people who are saying they might actually vote For this government again.

And start actively supporting ProRep along with those on your left, as the Liberal Party may have reached the watershed momnemt where you too are being negatively affected by the disproportionate skewing of votes to the right. It just means you'll actually have to govern to the left (slightly) as well as running to it.

This apparently isn't about a rabble news feature, so I'm moving this to politics.

And E. Kootenay, do you think you could perhaps give this thread a title that actually describes what the thread is about? "NDP" is probably the least descriptive thread title I've seen in a while. If it's not changed in a day or so, I'll be closing the thread.
