Feminism for Beginners

Hello all,

It recently occurs to me that I'm a bit more out of touch with the subject of feminism than I had originally thought, especially judging by how things went in the Belinda thread. I've been thinking quite a bit about that thread and I'm feeling a bit off-kilter about things I want to fix that. It's not a comfortable feeling to consider oneself as a feminist and know that you can get so easily blindsided like I was...

As such, I'd like to ask for help... I'm thinking about downloading some audiobooks on the subject to brush up on all things feminist, but I don't want to just buy something, because I honestly have no clue as to what to look for. Any suggestions?

Audio books??

Are there no feminists attending UWO? Go to the protest tomorrow night and say "Hello". I'm half kidding, dude.

I found that the women who became my female feminist guides were more than happy to answer my usually ignorant questions.

Beautiful soulfull people.

I actually don't know why they were my friends, given my redneck status. Maybe because I was the constantly learning student.

Actually, thinking about this again, I don't want to know the answers to my original post.

Don't bring BS back into another thread.

Hence, why edited it out.

Farmpunk

Dumb post edit.

Too bad I thought that was good. But whatever, I'll stop posting now.

I have lots of people I could ask about this sort of stuff, and I'm going to the thing tommorow, it's just that I wanted to know about books to do my own reading.

Joshua, this thread was started by morningstar a few months ago:

F... feminist books

That would be one place to start. And tons of other threads from the feminist forum. Just set your thread search for "show all" and check out some of the amazing conversations that have happened. Then see what happens when some men don't get it. Sometimes we're nice, sometimes we're not.

Good luck!
