Though she conceded "we will never have all of the answers," Lippman wants a thorough governmental review of the vaccine's safety, cost and uses before a large-scale immunization program is initiated.

I heard on CBC, someone was saying this vaccine, manufactured by Merck pharma, is being pushed hard by Merck lobbyists, as well as an intensive TV ad campaign. The same person said 90% of women will acquire HPV in their lifetimes and that the vast majority will become virus free naturally, without even knowing they had it in the first place.
A potentially life saving vaccine is always good but this sounds like Merck is just hearing Ca-ching.

It's perfect for McGinty. He can make this promise and make himself look all warm and fuzzy and caring like, and then cancel the program after the election.
He did the same thing last time with programs for autistic kids.
