Workers at one coffee stand are taking a stand against their new boss. The owner is implementing a dress code – requiring employees to wear skimpy outfits.
All the workers have quit.
"I make coffee, I don't sell my body, you know?"
That's what Barista Amy Klett told her boss at Lola Bean Espresso last week.
"He said he was going with a franchise called Cowgirls and that the attire would be different, and that if we weren't on board, he would find other people," said barista Heather Cyrus.
…"Military Monday, Cowgirl Tuesday, Bikini Wednesday, Schoolgirl Thursday and Fantasy Friday," said Cyrus.
…
"I don't think he was expecting every one of us to quit," said Klett.
I love it.
An act of solidarity and defiance all in one.
Imagine what they could've done with a union!
Take this job and shove it. Parasitic bastards.
Wouldn't surprise me to see Paul Vickers pick up the Canadian franchise to complement the Cowboys brand here.
I'm getting babble whiplash here. Wasn't there a thread just a month ago where everyone was mocking the people that preached for woman to dress/act more conservatively?
As for Vickers, women will be lining up for blocks once his job ad hits the paper.
So who thinks parasitic capitalists should have the power to dictate stripper attire to low wage service workers ?. I say it's okay if parasitic owners and managers of these establishments bring themselves, wives and families to work dressed similarly on regular occasion as a show of solidarity with their own principles or lack thereof. Stupid bastards anyway.

This is different. This is a cumpulsory dress code, not a choice to dress provocatively in one's personal life.
And to your second point, I don't doubt you're right. But that's entirely different from changing someone's job description.

As a matter of obligation, yes, not as a matter of choice.

Possibly. But the difference is that they'll know what they're getting into.
