Does Babble Have Signatures ?

SwimmingLee

This is from a Harry Potter book, it's about Love.

"There is a room in the Department of Mysteries," interrupted Dumbledore, "that is kept locked at all times. It contains a Force that is at once more wonderful and more terrible than Death, than human intelligence, than Forces of Nature. It is also perhaps the most mysterious of the many subjects for study that reside there. It is the Power held within that room that you possess in such quantities, and which Voldemort has not at all."

Does Babble have signatures on posts, where people can put their own personal blurb, or an exclamation such as, "Retire the Bubble Chimp !!!"

oldgoat

Sadly not.

I think they're kind of cool within limits, but I've seen sites where they really clutter the place up.

Try having fun with your "from" line at the bottom of every post.

That reminds me, I desperately need to change that part of my profile. I definitely haven't lived in Ottawa for well over a year!

Actually, many babblers get around the no signature problem by putting a small blurb or whatever in the "location" section of their profile. It will put that at the bottom of every post and works as a kind of stand-in.

So if you like, you can put what you want to do to the Bubble Chimp there.

ETA: Right. I realize that oldgoat already told you that. Usually I benefit from my habit of only reading two-thirds of his posts, but every now and then this habit feeds me crow.

"Sadly" not? No! No, it's not sad at all! It's good! I so dislike sigs. As oldgoat says, they clutter up posts.

There's nothing like seeing a bunch of one-line posts in a row with 3 or 4 lines (or some honkin' huge image file) taken up by a sig in each and every post.

jrose, I just heard a great quote from Chris Rock you can use, although it's a bit long. I just made it my signature on my personal email:

"Giuliani's kinda like a pitbull. He's great when you have a burglar, but if you don't, he just might eat your kids."

Thanks for the patience there Catchfire. Most people realise they're wasting their time after the first line or two.

Did you say something?
