The courage to resist: war resisters fight to stay

With the help of NDP MP Olivia Chow, the war resisters' case was brought to the federal Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration. The issue could come down to a vote in the House.

The Americans that run here to Canada are not war resisters. Let us be clear. These cowards knowingly enlisted in US forces and upon receipt of orders to deploy to the Iraqi theatre of operations...they came here to Canada. These are not "war resisters" but cowards.

Before the invasion and new government of Afghanistan 45.000 little boys were permitted to attend Taliban Muslim schools. Now over six million boys and girls attend school in Afghanistan. These children are watched over in their schools by the ghosts of well over seventy Canadian soldiers that sacrificed their lives for their future and education.

The "Battle of Iraq" is won, in short the surge worked. The meeting engagement with Al Quaeda, Iran, Syrian, "palestinian" elements" Yemenis, Saudis..et al has been won.

But Al Quaeda and a myrid of other terrorist qroups that are engaged in fatwah of Jihad against "the United States, the Phillipines, Russia, the UK and all other crusader nations"...are still conducting world-wide operations from Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

Candian soldiers are fighting for the security of Canada and Canadians here. Failed states are forward operating bases for terrorists that have killed in Bali, Spain, Russia, Italy, the UK, the United States and so on. Twenty four Canadians were murdered in New York on 9-11.

The "Battle of Afghanistan" is "about to begin". The major theatre of operations in the war agaist terror and global jihad is Afghanistan and Pakistan.

It is battle that western civilization must win.

Buzz off, freeper boy. There are lots of forums where your warmongering is welcome. This isn't one of them.

Golly. I'm always amazed that there's still a minority of people out there who still buy that tripe. Probably believes Saddam was involved in 911 too.

The CBC has gotten into the same BS that freeper boy just put forth, they are doing a program tonight at 6pm, at least here in BC, that is telling Canadians our military personal feel betrayed by us.

You people are so naive it's sad really, Do you have any idea what would happen to the people of Afghanistan if Nato were to suddenly pull all the troops out.

It would be so nice and peaceful then right?

Seriously, I understand about foreign countries trying to tell another culture how to live, but if you don't seriously believe that the lives of millions of Afghans have improved since the over throw of the taliban yr beyond help.

What would happen that is already not happening?

No one has ever claimed that.

No apparently you don't, and please prove they are better.

One right-wing troll gets bounced and the other doesn't.

Go figure.

Ibelongtonoone

# 1 - I'm not right wing, nor am I a troll

# 2 - I don't and didn't support any invansion of a country that didn't attack first. (Afghanistan is more complicated than Iraq but I won't waste the time)

# 3 - it seems to me, that you desire to have NATO troops leave Afghansitan because you don't think they should have gone in the first place

the stablity of the country, the welfare of the people don't really mean anything to you.

If you have to ask for proof of improvment in quality of life for millions of Afghans, you have no interest, there are little stories every other day, of old customs coming back, musicians, weddings, newspapers, educatiion ect. Yr blinded by anger is seems.

I'm not saying the war is being waged perfectly or whether Canada should be doing this at all but what is the criteria for staying or going if not the welfare of the population?

Sigh. It's complaints morning. That's why all the hardassed moderating posts. Ibelong, your contemptuous remark about babblers being "naive" is unwelcome and clearly trolling for a hostile response. Don't play all innocent and wide-eyed hurt when people call you on stuff like that.
