What is going on with the RCMP? It just seems like they're constantly in the news for some kind of inappropriate or illegal action.

It's quite simple: The RCMP is a corrupt organization who's members consider themselves above the law, not servants to the law. Ever since The March West, the RCMP (and NWMP before) has led a dual existence...that of both a law enforcement agency and a criminal organization. It seems that Canadians are finally realizing that the RCMP are little more than power-rushing, politically-motivated heavies with guns, a scant 134 years later.
