Racism at work in Ontario Courts

On March 18, all the "whites" were freed from contempt charges relating to the Sharbot Lake uranium protest. Two had charges dropped, with no conditions imposed. Robert Lovelace, Algonquin negotiator and university professor, was also charged with contempt. He was sent to prison for six months and fined $25,000. Other Ardochs have been fined, face further charges, and have had to purge contempt to avoid losing their homes and children. No-one should be deluded that what happened in the Kingston courtroom was anything other a deliberate effort to break the coalition between the two communities and put the focus entirely on FNs.

Six members of the KI community were sent to jail the day before the non-native guys got off. The three who were freed are planning to get this story out there - it should be no surprise that the courts are capable of two streams of so-called justice. No one wants to see anyone go to jail, but the real outrage is the cynicsm that accepts that the courtroom csn be so manipulated by the corporation.
