Did you know you're riding...

I'm off to Morocco in a couple of weeks with my partner and our 12 year old daughter. Anyone have any must-see/do/taste's for us? We'll be traveling around the country.

Wow! That sounds amazing. Are you visiting anyone there, or are you going as strictly tourists? I assume the latter, otherwise they'd have some suggestions for you.

Pretty exciting. Maybe check out "Lonely Planet"? I think they have a web site.

Thanks for that link Michelle. We are on our own, without a firm itinerary, just looking to stop in on anything that strikes our fancy. It will be a MUCH needed rest for all of us!

Leave the shorts at home. The locals get VERY annoyed at tourists with bare sleeves and bare legs (especially female tourists). Make sure you haggle at the souks and respect the local religious customs. Oh, and don't buy those Moroccan garments. They look ridiculous on Westerners.

I don't understand the title of this thread. Shouldn't it be renamed to reflect the topic?

Edited to add: Oh, I get it: "Marrakesh Express"... and I'm old enough for that! But still...

Well, I wouldn't wear "native" costume in Morocco, except in someone's home, but djellabas and caftans are lovely things to wear, very comfy. Don't wear shorts except at beaches and resorts (this applies to men as well).

In Casablanca and other large cities, many women wear western dress, but not shorts.
