Racism at the YMCA of Greater Toronto

The issue of racism at the YMCA OF Greater Toronto and its impact on youth is being discussed in context of Falconer report on school safety. Many believe that we should hold various organizations including YMCA responsible for their roles in youth violence.

Everyone who has been subject to racism at the YMCA of Greater Toronto is encouraged to file a complaint with the Ontario Human Rights Commission.
Few people are working on drafting a letter to ask the YMCA of Greater Toronto to develop proper Human Rights and harassment policies and develop an organizational structure to support and implement those policies.

We encourage everyone to stop their donations to the YMCA of Greater Toronto until such a time that they develop proper policies and procedures and put in place an organizational structure to support those policies.
