I know I won't be going to Tim Hortons any time soon. I hope nobody else here will either.
That's disgusting.
Next time they wrap themselves in the flag and say how Canadian they are and how they are so integrated with the Canadian experience and identity - someone should tell them to start by acting human.
Since the labour board does not have any teeth in this province, at least consumers should respond somehow.
This is not new for Horny Tims. I had someone in my house working there. They routinely would call anywhere from 3 or 6 in the morning asking them if they wanted to come in for a shift. A couple times I answered the phone and said that I had been woken up and had worked till almost midnight the night before but the manager did not care and never apologized. I called head office and explained that we could not explain just how we felt to the manager since it could affect the employment of someone in our house (I did not say where I was coming from) but that if this practice existed all across the province there must be a lot of people mad at Hortons. I went on to say at the wage they pay, their employees do not live alone and most would be sharing either in shared accommodation arrangements or with family. Even if they did not respect their employees having manners with the general public tends to be good for business. I have heard from others that our experience was not unique.
this is an organization that does a lot of advertising but lacks leadership at the top for policies that would make them reasonable employers.

Good reason to boycott.
