BUMP!
For Toronto babblers looking to support some independents this weekend ...
Thank you Jrose for bumping this thread. It is, to me, anyway, very important and I would have missed it.
I'll be going to the SPBF today, with flowers for the organizers.
Hmm, I think my munchkin and I might come out to that today as well.
So? How did it go? We couldn't make it out.
Please fill me in too! My power was out from Thursday until Saturday, so I had to deal with that on Saturday, and after a few hours of frustration in that department I decided against hopping on a bus and heading into the city. I wish I could have made it!
Im sorry I missed it but was in Seattle until sunday.
What all happened there?
I popped in, so can't give a full report. There were tables. There were people behind the tables. There were books, magazines, zines, buttons, and various curious / lovely objects on the tables.
I didn't recognize many people. In many ways, I see this as a very good sign.
There were readings. There were people listening to the readings.
Seemed to be a full showing, though not chokingly crowded. I prefer events that aren't chokingly crowded. And not too hot.
The security guards, I could have lived without. But that's life at an event at the JCC.
