...And you're not the boss of me BA!

Question, when did 9 year olds start blogging on here?

Okay, this is how these silly 50 post fights start - someone posts a one-liner insult like that for no reason other than injecting a gratuitous flame into the thread, and then the whole thread goes to hell in a handbasket. I just happened to notice this now when it happened, so I'm stepping in to ask that we not go there, okay? I don't want to come back tonight and find a screaming match.

Here, here! But I would actually say Tommy's example of the blueberries and the bees exemplifies how profit driven initiatives and the entire monetary system is counter productive to the advancement of society and human potential.

To be sure, there is something very wrong with a society whose framers use the food bank.

A blueberry farmer should not be in competition (for $$$) with the bee farmer. In fact, it's unnatural - they should be working together and complementing each other's efforts.

Capitalism, better termed as competitionism, is counter productive. It limits so many grand, and much needed possibilities in our society. When will we demand our freedom from the monetary system?

It seems to me there are and have been no shortage of Bruce lovers and Grey/Bruce inhabitants here on Babble-- at least a dissproportionate amount for a geographically and demographically small area.

This is exactly what I was thinking while reading this thread, was thinking about commenting on it and then here's a comment.

I love the area and the pennisula rocks.

Left J.A.B.

If you include Grey (which as a Bruce County person I am loath to do ) I can think of at least 6 or 7 regular posters just off the top of my head. It must be the progressive history of the area. Home to Agnes MacPhail, the birthplace of the National Farmers Union, one of the earliest public utilities, a place with a number of thriving co-op businesses and so on.

Either that or there really is a secret plot that we can't reveal

From the OP article"

Instead of trying to win people to the idea of using government policies to penalize bad consumer decisions,

So far, no one has argued that a farmer should be able to externalize costs, so I guess that means you all agree that this article is just muddled, liberal crap.

The author talks about "bad consumer behavior" to blame for the pollution that "smart" farmers are forced to dump into lakes and rivers just to stay competitive. Competitive with who? Who cares. The idea is just for farmers to "win" and for political parties to "win" support by playing favorites with key demographic groups.

Externalizing costs is killing us and our economy. No amount of posturing can change that.
