Quote:
Mike Nagy, who ran in Guelph, Ont., and was considered one of the best
hopes for a seat, isn’t running in the next election. The “Vote Green”
message was not clear, he says: “The purpose of the Green party is not
to oppose one party or another party. The purpose of the Green party is
to elect Greens.” He believes the party could have done better.

So Nagy is out, thought the article is not absolutely clear whether or not this is because of May.

Here is the direct link

I remember during the election that Green Supporters said things like Greens are different, it's about getting the Green message out and not about winning seats. I remember in a thread here, that if one doesn't want to win seats, than taking money from the taxpayer was wrong, as it's about supporting a political party and having representation in the House, and not supporting a political NGO or movement.

Political games don't interest her: "I will not join in mindless partisanship because I find it absurd," she says, adding: "I'm very uncomfortable being like the other politicians who say ‘Vote for me, vote for me' all the time and don't have any sense of respect for voters. Voters can make up their own minds."

Well, I would go along with the notion of the GP being a political NGO, for the environment, what a *cute* way to further finance the enironmentalistist movement, however, it is all about political games, no matter how much May says it isn't.

One thing I am happy to see is that no one bought into May's trope,  that the GP is just a merry bunch of amatures,  flying by the seat of their pants, and  all of that BS.  Seeing as how alluding to it was removed from the report, that the GP internally was allowed to read, I would suggest that internally they decided against using such a BS ploy yet again and had May remove it.

As a sane person, what Ms May wants to avoid is to be blamed for all the environmental problems in the World. The mob, always searching for a scapegoat, doesn’t want to understand why May is not in a hurry to take power.

Elizabeth may is delusional or dishonest.  Either way she is unfit for public office.

Try head-hunting for bigger fishes Malcolm!

This thread is about the fish we are hunting it does not matter what you consider the size to be, or even who we should be hunting according to you.

Head-hunting is what the righteous are doing; this whole site wants to develop a leftist alternative to that.

And you know this how?

Remind how did you get a line above watching the tide roll in.

How do you insert something in quotes. I notice one of your posts statrds with "Quote" compared to the software thta says SO snd So Wrote.

I am trying real hard to like this new program but I can't quote properly and am having troubles with links. Cry

Kropotkin, I put a line above it in my account profile where you put your signature.

I type out the quoting parameters just as I did on the old babble.

[q uote] [/q uote] (no space between q and u  letters just showing you what I do without it becoming part of the formating) and then I place what I want quoted in between the start and stop quote words in brackets. And if I am doing multiple quotes I copy and paste the quoting function words ([q uote] [/q uote])several times, and then I insert what quotes I want in there after by copy and pasting, or by simply adding [q uote] to the beginning and [/q uote] at the end of the portion I want to address. Either way works.

With links you type/copy and paste what you an to say about the link first, then highlight it and then click on the chain link next to the ABC icon below the response comment window, another window opens and you paste the url link address into it. And the link then appears in the words you highlighted, and after that you can highlight and bold or underline it it to set it apart from the other words.

 Like this example from google

Thread title = May blames everyone and everything else but Herself PART 2

May fouled up her and the Greens election to Parliament in at least three ways.  The first is, I think, by being associated with Brian Mulroney.  The second is by putting forward a consumerist economic agenda coupled with recycling which, iow, qualifies her as a Con who recycles.  The third is her nuanced support for women's reproductive freedom, which is about as far from supporting women's reproductive freedom as you can get without declaring yourself as anti-choice.

And yes, she behaves much like one of my teenagers in not accepting responsibility for her and her party's failure at the polls. (Not that my teen failed at the polls, just on the report card. Frown)

ETA:  clarification

Malcolm Malcolm's picture

I note the comment in the latest Maclean's article that Liberal Liz threatened to sue anyone who claimed she had ghostwritten the email from her daughter.

Of course, had she not made that threat (and had it not been reported), I'm not sure it ever would have occured to me that she had.  Though I did find "espouse" to be an odd choice of word for a 17-year-old.

unless she threw that in there, just reframe the issue from one of 17 year old asking candidates to step down and support other candidates to one of media going after a female victim.

Huh, interesting, as I had not thought of that aspect of it.

You are crediting her with a degree of tactical intelligence that she has never displayed previously.

I prefer my assessment - she's just not that bright.

remind remind's picture

Dislike being forced to defend  May, so will just say that if Jan realizes that it could be setting a alternate conceptual framework and Ican see what it was at work, May is definitely smart enough to do such a thing. Moreover, she is more than just bright. There is reason enough to criticize her and her actions, false claims are not needed.

Did anyone see any interview with her yesterday on the Throne Speech?

I know she was supposed to be in the Gallery and available for comment.

OO - I only found two references so far.  One is from the Western Standard and the other a GP press release.  It doesn't say anything significant and actually I'm not sure why this particular statement was made.  Doesn't make sense to me.  It's simply a swipe at the promise to not run a deficit made during the election.  However she states that she was the only one to not make a false promise about deficits and balanced budgets saying in a recession it might be unavoidable.  Now however she is being critical of Harper's willingness to abandon that promise.

As for Ms. May it will be interesting to see where she will live now that the House is in session.

voice of the damned

If I'm understanding this, janfromthebruce is deleting a bunch of her old posts, with the edits bumping each thread up.

So, care to share what's up, Jan? Just culling old posts for the heck of it? I've known people to do that, for a number of reasons. Mostly to do with making a notable flounce from a board. Hope all is well.
