Let me get this clear Martin. Are you saying one can never feel schadenfreude over the state of a affairs of a given woman?

Well clearly, there's only one way to settle this.  We'll wire Rush's jaw shut as well, by way of a social experiment, and then measure the dopamine responses in Doug's brain when shown images of both parties.  As a control, and to rule out other influences, we'll establish a baseline by giving him a doobie and showing him a picture of Ezra Levant with his jaw wired shut too.

"Despised social category"?  "Opportunistic sarcasm"?  Man, is that overly dramatic. 

My feeling is that if we, especially other women, give women a pass when they do and say things that are reprehensible because and only because they are women, we are doing no favours to women as a category or to the ends of feminism.  When somebody, ANYBODY, says and does the kind of shitty things Coulter does, they deserve to be called on it at every opportunity.  Male or female, it makes no difference to me.

I called Coulter an emaciated psychopath.  I stand by it.  She's so underweight her eyes are hollow, and she's clearly barking mad.  Now, if I had said all women on the right or all female right-wing pundits were such, you might have a point.  But I didn't and you don't.

 In fact, I made no reference at all to her sex.  As far as I can see, you're the only one making an issue of it -- and I think that makes you a fuck of a lot more sexist than I am.

Jesus Martin, I'll admit that the writers characterization of "leggy reactionary" was a slightly undisciplined bit of jounalism, and does give you a tiny smidgin of ammunition to make your point, but in the interest of balance I'll wager that had it been Rush Limbaugh, the term "bloated gasbag" might have been offered.  How the hell are we allowed to smirk at this most Karmik of happenstances?

Somehow I think Ms Coulter has the misogyny and sexist thing covered herself. Nothing said here even begins to compares with her own viewpoint.

I agree that Coulter does misogyny very well, better than most of you in fact.

I'm curious to know how she broke her jaw. Perhaps she inadvertantly spoke the truth? I know it's far fetched, but she's been out of the news for a while and I thought that might be the reason. Nothing keeps a leggy reactionary off the air like inadvertant truth.

Did anyone else notice that while an enraged Iraqi newsman threw his shoes at George Bush, in the ensuing melee it was Press Secretary Dana Perino who got a black eye? (And people doubt the magic bullet theory!)

I want to be sensitive to Martin's criticism and stand on guard against my lefty misogyny, but the GOP is looking like a Right Wing Blonde Joke machine.
