What was the best action or fundraiser you've ever put on ? I'm basically looking for ideas- I've never done either of these, and I was recently sort of asked for some after proposing a change in stategy and the possibility of new projects for my AI group.

But seriously, PFRD, I need some answers first: Why are you putting on this event? To raise money? To increase the organization's profile? Both? To gain membership? Other reasons?
I have lots of ideas that have "worked" to greater and lesser degrees depending on the goal, with different organizations I've worked with/volunteered with.

Yes Amesty International.
Basically, we've been writting letter for the same prisoner of conscience for the past 2 years, to no effect. I sugested a change of strategy becasue no one should be improsoned for 25 years for being a student activist in Burma- which is admittedly a hard case.

Not that I know of speciafically, although there's always conferences in Montreal for certain. I know that the regime in Burma only allows foreign business to do bsiness there if they go in parterniship with with the government (i.e. the despots) so we could do some tabling at one, raise awareness about why not to dso business there...busines and human rights. Cool.
