In response to the rabble article about the evils capitalism as declared by 3rd world dictators and socialists: I'm assuming and hoping you don't agree with this declaration against capitalism and for socialism; read: against freedom and for coercion. A fatherly instinct is necessary for those of us who are fathers. But only for us and only toward our own kids until they reach about 12-18; and then, what little coercion should be exercised parent to child, miniscule though it might have been, ends. Coercion, the initiation of force is inappropriate and immoral in any other relationship of any kind.
Capitalism is what made America surpass everyone else so quickly. That growth and prosperity was slowed by Hoover, FDR and Wilson beginning in the early 1900s with continued addition of roadblocks in the 60s and today, with only a brief respite during Reagan. These south american 3rd worlders should be saying, "Thanks." to us. Intead, they follow freedom's detractors' example and whine about the environment. "The earth's needs over humanity's need, except for the poor's needs...rich industrialists needs below all" People like this, in and outside our country couldn't exist without rich industrialists. Capitalism "imposes" nothing. It offers values in exchange for values and everyone benefits. Taking from the productive and giving it to the non-productive benefits no one, as evidenced by our current global economy. Has no one read "Atlas Shrugged?" Shrug away, I say. We"ll no longer burden you with the prosperity we bring. We"ll leave you to wallow in your vaunted "culture" of socialism until you die from starvation if not sooner; when you discover there's no one to create the values you so voraciously consumed, no one left to rob.
