Perhaps we are not as much smarter than the animals as we think we are.

I read an article about 2 months ago that completely debunked the "thinking with their lizard brains" thing to explain when people act really mean or selfish.  The author pointed out that we parted ways with the lizards over 300 million years ago and their brains have been evolving (and diverging from ours) ever since.

Same with fish, same with birds, same with squid. They have all been evolving and their brains are not exactly huge but the organization of their brain material is totally different.  In  birds too, the organization of the brain is absolutely different to that of mammals.  I thought about it a while. What other mammals are bipedal?  Kangaroos?  Reptile (dinosaurs) figured out bipedal locomotion over 200 million years before mamals did!  And birds shortly after them.  Perhaps we are just lucky that our big inefficient brains got to cognition by accident.

Check it out, and there are others similar to that one!   Perhaps we mammals aint so smart after all.
