More at the link. Too much "life" to this man to draw out a few random quotes.

Thanks for this, munroe. I listened to the tribute this morning on CBC Sunday morning (should be available later on the internet). What a great man and how lucky we are to still have him among us.

After two years, I still haven't got the hang of starting threads!  This was supposed to be in Culture, because Seeger to me is a cultural icon.  I heard the CBC tribute as well and all I can say is that it was too short.  A remarkable person for sure....

Thanks, Catch....

How about Pete Seeger and the "Union Boys" helping the war effort in 1944:

Wait for the song to load and push "play".

I was raised by a Pete Seegar fan, and grew up with his music.

As an aside, munroe, I've noticed that sometimes threads begin in "introductions" when they weren't designated there by the original poster, it's odd. Moving to "culture".

Thank you, Maysie.

The McGarrigles (among others!)  are playing at his birthday bash.

Hey Catchfire, that's ain't Pete Seeger...

That is very funny. And I am also very sorry to Pete Seeger. What a major brain lapse. I think I saw Woody Guthrie in the OP and then went to town without thinking.
