There is quite a lot of hot air emenating from the knuckle-dragging right led by Ezra (he makes it up) Levant. Its Levant's contention that back in 1966 Jewish Holocaust survivors, anti-Facists, left-wing Jewish students, "Commies" and the Canadian Jewish Congress, bankrolled, propped up and supported William John Beattie's, Canadian Nazi Party. You can read much of his diatribe here and follow whatever links you want.

It seems Ezra's ahistorical, revisionist history got the best of at least one Jewish historian, Dr. Ellen Scheinberg, who just happens to be the Director of the Ontario Jewish Archives. Here is her rebuttal of Ezra's nonsense.

Usually I would totally ignore this goof but seeing he has been on the Canadian best-seller list now for weeks. Its more difficult to brush him off.
The thing of it is that if you follow Ezra through to his logical conclusion his theory sounds something like this:
In 1966 'The Jews" in the guise of the groups above, knew full well that John Beattie was a nobody, a kook who should not be taken at all seriously. However these "Jews" made up of commies and lefties so badly wanted to have anti-hate laws that they all conspired to fund Beattie and his small neo-Nazi group so as to cause fear and havoc just to force government to get these laws passed. It is but another take on the Jewish conspiracy theory.
The book on this time period was written by Franklin Bialystok and thanks to Google you can if you wish read it on line. It can be found here http://books.google.com/books?id=TEOzC2c9gmYC&printsec=frontcover&dq=delayed+impact#PPA121,M1
I have little doubt that most here can and will see through Ezra Levant. I wonder though what we do with someone who so bastardizes history, and by doing so tries to destroy reputations of folks long dead?
