Ghadaffi Attacks Security Council

http://english.aljazeera.net/news/middleeast/2009/07/200971595728298473....

"The Security Council is terrorism," he said. The UN body "does not represent us, it is monopolized by a few countries that are permanent members. This represents a danger to international peace. We have been harmed - all sorts of harm - from the Security Council. It has become a sword over our necks." The Non Aligned Movement (NAM) is the largest grouping of countries outside of the UN, made up of mostly African, Asia and Latin American nations.."

Venezuelan President and all-around swell guy Hugo Chavez has made reference to the dream of Simon Bolivar to create a UN-type body that works for the people of "the South". Such a body would not have its home in the US.

Sounds good to me.

Well, if anyone would know terrorism, it's Muammar Gaddafi.

The Security Council knows better..

That's right, Reaganauts gave Gaddaffi his 9/11 in 1986 with an aerial attack that killed his adopted daughter.

And then the CIA's Islamic gladios put out a hit on Gaddaffi in 2003 and has since decided it's better to allow the supranational oil mafia to do business in Libya than suffer any more terrorist threats from western thugs.

You wanna explain what you mean by that, or should we just take it as "common knowlege" that Libya has "terrorist" ties? Some info other than the received wisdom of CNN, Back to the Future and True Lies, that is.

Snert Snert's picture

So an article in CounterPunch would be OK?  Or IndyMedia?  Or pretty much any "news" outlet that would never dream of doing the work of The Man by discussing such?  But definitely NOT from any normal news outlet that might?

No, no snipe hunt for me today.  Take it or leave it.

Fidel

So a CNN or Foxy Newz piece on Qaddaffi would be OK? Or take your pick of corporate sponsored newz rags on filtered newz about the latest CIA/"al-Qa'eda" targeted world leader?

How many times did the jackals try to murder Fidel and pull gladio attacks on Cuba? Provide sanctuary from international justice to everyone from Nazi war criminals to known terrorists and hirelings of the CIA? No integrity whatsoever there, mate

CNN reports that last year, Libya paid out $1.5 billion to victims of terrorism.  You figure CNN just made that up and nobody called them on it?

Funny, I thought the corporate capitalist uber elites and their armies and  police forces, paid for by tax payers dollars, were the actual terrorists in the world.

Fidel

So where's the actual proof?

How much did the Yanks compensate Libya for Reagan's 1986 terrorist attack on that country?

The VietNam war was one long terrorist attack on a country of desperately poor people. Not one American dime went to compensating them for the massive destruction and loss of life. Not one thin dime.

Stockholm

Libya had its agents plant a bomb on a passenger plane that blew up over Lockerbie and killed hundreds for no reason whatsoever. Khadafy has confessed and Libya has paid billions in reparatuons to the victim's families.

When did he confess?

Oh, I've got Libya's cancelled cheque right here... uh... somewhere.

You seem happy to take any crank claim made by a so-called "truther" at face value, but when CNN makes a factual claim that Libya paid money to settle up some terrorism cases, you need more proof. Why not phone up Mo himself? It sounds like his word is the only thing that would satisfy you anyway.

When you're talking to him, tell him Snert says he has awesome hair.

Yes! The Police are the real terrorists!

Lindauer: Dr. Richard Fuisz (FUZE) is the most fascinating individual I have encountered in my life.

Dr. Fuisz was a major CIA operative in Syria and Lebanon in the 1980s. Dr. Fuisz coordinated the hostage rescue of Terry Anderson et al out of Beirut , Lebanon . His team located their make-shift prisons and called in the Delta Force for a daring raid. He testified before Congress about U.S. corporations that supplied Iraq with weapons systems before the first Gulf War. He got outed as CIA by Damascus after stealing the blueprints for Syria 's brand new telecommunications system.

Finally, Dr. Fuisz claims to know the real story of Lockerbie, including the identities of the terrorist masterminds, whom he insisted were not Libyan at all. It was he who suggested that somebody needed to approach Libya about the Lockerbie Trial. An individual who passionately opposed sanctions and recognized possible terrorist scenarios, he thought, would be ideal to start up the talks.

Has anyone thought to investigate the Gladio Gang for doing PanAm 103?

A former Scottish police chief has given lawyers a signed statement claiming that key evidence in the Lockerbie bombing trial was fabricated.

The retired officer - of assistant chief constable rank or higher - has testified that the CIA planted the tiny fragment of circuit board crucial in convicting a Libyan for the 1989 mass murder of 270 people.

The police chief, whose identity has not yet been revealed, gave the statement to lawyers representing Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, currently serving a life sentence in Greenock Prison.

The evidence will form a crucial part of Megrahi's attempt to have a retrial ordered by the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission (SCCRC). The claims pose a potentially devastating threat to the reputation of the entire Scottish legal system.

The officer, who was a member of the Association of Chief Police Officers Scotland, is supporting earlier claims by a former CIA agent that his bosses "wrote the script" to incriminate Libya.

Sword play and passenger planes?

The report also cites a DIA briefing in December 1989 entitled "Pan Am 103, Deadly Co-operation" which named Iran as the likely state sponsor of the bombing.

The briefing stated that the PFLP-GC was "fast becoming an Iranian proxy" and that the destruction of Pan Am flight 103 to avenge the shooting down of the Iran Air 655 airbus may have been the result of such Iranian and PFLP-GC co-operation.

The DIA briefing discounted Libya's involvement in the bombing on the basis that there was "no current credible intelligence" implicating her. It stated: "Following a brief increase in anti-US terrorist attacks after the US airstrike on Libya [in 1986], Gaddafi has made an effort to distance Libya from terrorist attacks."

Robert Baer, a retired senior CIA agent who claims Iran was behind the attack, has alleged that the Americans were wary of pursuing the country in case it disrupted oil supplies and damaged the economy.

Megrahi's lawyers would have claimed that there were no traces of explosive on the circuit board fragment. Sounds like he was fitted up.
