This could be a basis for a science-fiction / horror story, like an episode of "The Outer Limits".

On the serious side, this raises questions about the possibilities of using organic matter such as grass clippings, twigs, sawdust, leaves, etc as fuel to produce energy. If vegetable matter can power robots could it also produce elecricity or power vehicles?
